the return of the living palm pre

While that could be fantastic news, it's unlikely that it will use webOS as the operating system although I suspect it will be similar gesture based system, but more likely Android based. Why create a new OS now, especially since their last one bombed? - not necessarily Palm's fault though (I'm looking at you, HP!) I suppose they could use openwebOS, but that wouldn't necessarily be enough to push the phone into the mass-market.

And the hope of GLB continuing to support such a niche device is probably low now, especially with earlier talk of dropping certain formats.

But whatever, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this. Cheers for the info erico :)

Yep. I share your exact opinion on this. Why another os when the battle for mobile oeses seems to have settled on androis and ios. Even windows mobile seems not to be picking up.

The reason we cannot support Windows Phone 8, is that system does not support OpenGL. The closest mightbeen uses angle?

Howover HP screwed and did bad markingthing with WebOS and discarded Hp TouchPad soon after release. So im also except seen the new Palm Pre to been Android based in some fork (like Nokia did). But let see. WebOS Source Code files does not uses very much files, unlike JavaScript and Android. Nut im not sure the new one would have any succes at all?

So yes by now, WebOS in the current form is pretty much dead, and hence im would not have focus at all by now (even the appstore is closed). But im would not remove Panora at all, because turned out to been a pretty good test platform, and does not clutter source code very much at all.

But for me iOS and Android is my main focus on the mobile area.

Interesting but I think will be the same like in the TV have the weboS, if they do works again the system I think they will change a lot, and perhaps GLBasic don't runs properly,...

I think for a while we only get in the market Android and IOS, and the Oriental market with Meego and the other platform but really I think always it's the same, too much developers doing games and people and saturated markets....

Perhaps a real market  it's make good games, I will do really medioum or big productions but under Linux Desktop.

About Phone 8 I now the OpenSOurce Engine Gedot it's using angle library for port Opengl to DirectX, but I think this can be a vey very hard works... The phone it's really cool and I think this platform don't dissapear in a lot of time. a bunch of Lumia 520 was sold, very cheaper and cool phone for little money.

I heared that WebOS was using Apple patents and they had no other choice than to cut it down.

About the Apple patents, im thiks its was a very old issue, which got settled in 2013. So im dont thinks its would been a issue in that area at all.

Im do still thinks Windows Phone have a better future than WebOS have, if you ask me. There is various nice cheap Nokia phones, so its a easy pickup.

Its just sad OpenGl is not in Windows Phone, which for me seen as a biggest fault, so its get harder to port.

Considering the future. Sure windows will survive and strive longer. But i doubt it would be as great as people say web os was. I havent tackled neither to have an opinion of my own though.

Would be nice if web os comes back and support is already there. Sleave ace...
