HP/Palm Promo Codes - now available :)

It looks as though HP/Palm have finally sorted out a Promo Code system, like Apple.

I got this email -

Dear webOS Developer:

We are excited to let you know about new features and functionality that will provide you more ways to monitor and grow your app business.

Use promo codes to market and distribute your apps

Developers now have the ability to generate promo codes to help market their apps. You can use promo codes to offer free review copies to press or giveaways for special campaigns.

    Generate up to 1,000 promo codes for each major release of your app, which are valid up to 60 days.
    Create promo codes for an unlimited number of campaigns
    Track and manage codes: View status, revoke codes, download code histories

I would presume that's the case, but we are dealing with HP/Palm here...

HOW THE HELL DO I DOWNLOAD THE GAME?

I have "clicked" in the "redeem" code url on Palm, but it only opens a web page with my app, and I dont find a button for "download" or "buy"... crazy.

Maybe you can't use a code if you already have the app installed on your machine?

I've redeemed a code for B'lox! - I've set the campaign to last for 7 days, starting tomorrow; saturday 30th April  (it wouldn't do today).

7 days should be long enough for users here to use it if they wish. If you can use it and enjoy the app, please leave me some positive feedback (I certainly need it). If you don't like it, or it doesn;t work, well feed that back to me too.

With regards to feedback, B'lox! Free has been downloaded 2000 times now with 5/5 star ratings, however the last person to leave feedback stated that they couldn't find the full version on the App Catalog. I can see it, but can nobody else? It's still only sold 25 copies - now I put this down to the negative comments, but it may be more than this. Can someone please try to view B'lox! and B'lox! Free on the App Catalog from their Pre and let me know if they can see it. Cheers

There are only a few Palm sites and I have marketed to all of them. I briefly mentioned B'lox! Free and that has been downloaded over 2000 times now. I know it's free, but the feedback I'm getting from the free version is excellent. I think there's something here that I'm not seeing - like I stated above, maybe some users just can't see/get the full app from the catalog for some reason. Dunno.

BTW, I dont fully understand the "campaign time". Is the time the codes are actives, or after the time, used codes/downloaded apps are killed?

The codes expire after the time limit - not the apps.

I can see both the free and non-free version of B'lox...  It plays very well.  It might be an idea to mention that the 1.4.5 problems are fixed in the description.

There were no 1.4.5 problems. The only problem were with the PIXI. Don't forget to use the Promo Code if you want the full version
