I've finished the User Guide, and its available at : http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/invited/1085507/3c5c81f9fb32d0438c8c1b11c81e8c82 and also at http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/glbasic-user-guide/12674927

If it sells (well), I might be tempted to do Volume 2 (Reference Manual).

So,  BUY BUY BUY!

Thanks!  It is unfortunately only available for 2 weeks if no-one decides to buy it

That sucks. :(  I haven't heard of the 2 week limitation before, but then I have only bought PODs from Lulu.

I am sure you will get some sales, so keep your spirits up. :)

I would order it if I could.  But living off of my Army disability, anything we buy like this has to come out of the food budget and we only spend $100 USD per month on food, so $25 is a big chunk of the food budget for us.  About the only time I have money to spend is at Christmas and my birthday or wifey's birthday.

I'm rather limited with my money too :(

Lulu is much nicer to use than the other one - re-did the work there (and got an ISBN number too!)

Its slightly more expensive at £19.49, but I think its worth it :)

nice work, but you're really sure you want 23 Euro for 56 pages? Sorry, but I couldn't see so much more information than in the help files.

I've reduced the price to £13 and the download version to £2 at the Lulu website (its a lot easier to use than Blurb)

The minimum for the printed book that they allow is £12...

How are you "MrTAToad" ? (your books)

MrTAToad

I'm fine :)

The books were written using OpenOffice, and converted to PDF.  Its the contents of the Wiki that I wrote, with contributions (and a few modifications) by Cliff3D.

Its mainly for those who are new to GLBasic, although I wont stop anyone from buying it!

You can preview some of the pages on both sites - the Lulu will be the only place where I'll update the book if any errors or omissions are found.  The blurb software for creating books is not particularly good - it's much easier to write in a word processor and then convert to PDF

At the moment I'm doing the Programmers Reference Guide, which will include (from the Wiki) all the commands, the "How to use TYPE's" section that I wrote as well as the programming and style guide

If possible (and Cliff3D has finished them), I'll also include the tutorials.

I would probably also include some of my code too.

This will be useful for those who dont have a constant internet connection...

I never read programming or computer books.
Better, create interactive video. (for me - video better as book. "so I learn Maya")

See himself.
About 3 or 4 years ago, i downloaded "GLBasic".
I used the "GLBasic Tutorial" and watched you all on the forum.

You (people) must understand.
There are people who do not speak English. (i for example)

I think, beginners needed "interactive video".

Hi MrTAToad,

I am planning to buy a copy of your book, but have to wait for more pay to come in.
Does the 2nd site you linked to break free from the 2 week limit, or is it a case of get it now, or miss out if it does not sell enough?

Normally I would purchase the pdf for something like this.
Do you earn more money for printed book sales, or is the price of the pdf based on the printed price, minus production costs?
If you earn the same amount either way, I will opt for the pdf, however, if you earn extra for the printed book, I will purchase that just to support a community member.

Best of luck, I hope it does well for you.

Regards,
Dave

The second (Lulu) site doesn't have the two week limit, which is good...

For the sales figures, I would, of course, get more money for the printed books - although if more people get the download that the book they may work out the same...

Thanks for your interest in it.

I got me one on Lulu - just for the bookshelf. It's 20,- EUR in the end. Not really a bargain.
I'd increase the page number and send it to some book distibutors. Maybe one gives you a contract.
