Cheers Lee - I'll have to see about that bug.

Yeah, I just downloaded QBEEZ 2 - didn't think much of it, but SameGame is obviously the same game (no pun intended) as Collapse, Not sure which came first though, but it doesn't matter - they are all the same game.

[EDIT] Identified and sorted.

Download link removed. See download link later in thread
I came. I saw. I played.

Yep that fixed the issue :)

I would hazard a guess that samegame precedes collapse in that I remember playing it on my Unix terminal at work & that was early to mid 90's.

I like your version a lot as the gfx are a lot better plus the bonus of sound/music.

- "These go to eleven."

The GFX are simple awesoming and nice... Pixel art, I think 100% more complex than the 3D...

erico

I´d say 200% more complex and time consuming  :D
The gfx is really great, I´m playing the caanoo version, will let you know what I think soon.

bigsofty

Ooh this looks good, I'll try this when I get home.  :)
Cheers,

Ian.

Very nice, its got a great 'feel' to it and that "one more go" factor.

Maybe Im not very good but I feel that I would like a couple of 'continues' if possible?  :P
Cheers,

Ian.

I've noticed a bug in the game that affects the score multiplier value (the scrolling thing fades) - it changes if you select another set of tiles as it's on screen. I've now fixed this. Your score isn't affected and it's merely a cosmetic change and there are no other changes. If you haven't downloaded any version yet, then grab this one. If you have, well it's up to you if you feel the new download is worth it or not :P

BTW Every level can be completed, but you have to consider your moves ahead, rather than just clicking matches.

The "one more go", as big softy said, is really strong on this one.
Everything is well polished too. It has an "Ian Price" style to it.

The touch screen on the caanoo works wonders, it really shows its precision. I´m a big orango tango monkey and I can hold the caanoo and play this game single handed, and even with a couple beers in mind I still haven´t missed a finger touch (too lazy to pull the stylus). Gotta love this machine.

Also, the ability to get to the game in a matter of seconds, and also restarting it in a couple touches, do a great job on this kind of game, heck, some nintendo games you have to go through ages of splash and story screen, not here. You will take some time on the title screen, but just to check its beauty, you can really get to the game fast.

As a "not too found of puzzle games" person, I find amazing to be hooked on it, I can make to level 3 already and am still thinking of a proper way to erase blocks, it must have something to do with the down-left gravity... ;) (just don´t tell me...no spoiling, I will find out myself).

Music is perfect for the mood and it does not become annoying at any point, sfx are plastic bouble style and it helps a lot on the one more go effect.

I could say I miss a way to change the music volume, and mainly as it sounds too low on certain ambients.

Great gem you have there, a perfect job done in my book, congrats! :booze:

Cheers Erico :)

Unfortunately the main game music is as loud as it gets without increasing the volume of the original .MP3 (which could distort it). I did try reducing the volume of the sfx, but it didn't seem to have much effect (no pun intended).

It is a very simple game, created very quickly without adding any unnecessary fluff. I just wish my other games came together like this one. I had to rewrite the core a couple of times (due to my stupid maths as it happens, but that's a different story), but other than that it was exactly what it is now, pretty much within half an hour of starting coding. In total it's 600 lines of code (well spaced).

The game was originally just going to be different coloured pumpkins, but I thought that different "monster" masks would make the challenge a bit more interesting.

No problem, it is not that I can´t hear it, it was just that when I once played it outside, the natural noise (of sao paulo metropolis) kind of took the music away on the caanoo, but I hardly play outside.

:O :puke: :help: of course that was a typo and I´m sure you meant half a month of coding and 6k lines...

Anyway, it is really nice to get to see a line of style on your games, truly a mark of artist. This one is my best so far!

LOL. I actually reduced the volume of the laugh as I dodn;t want people to jump out of their skin when they failed. I wanted it to be spooky though.

Seriously, the game core IS really simple, relying mainly on arrays to help get the job done.

Kitty Hello

Definitely needs a Santa Price now. Hohoho...

Very good game, despite my aversion to the pumpkin celebration days.
