while tunning the new machine, did a glbasic logo.
nothing really useful yet... just trying out fonts and general position/perspectives

...other then building blocks, they do resemble dices too.

Sweet! How about putting it on a more Matte  or less shiny Surface and bring the camera in a little closer? I think that would make an awesome replacement.

Erico: That  looks good, but lose the square at the base of the white square. I do however think it loses  the simplicity of the original logo. It is however much more professional - which GLBasic has become since its humble origins.

Could you create a logo that doesn't include the "BASIC FOR GAMERS" sub-title? GLB is used for far more than just games and doesn't really need that strapline any more. IMHO.

that square is a result for fast placing things, gone now.
this is a more closer to original perspective.

the current is fine, I just don't quite enjoy the lettering. All good logos should be reduced to simple black and white shape form. Agree that "BASIC FOR GAMERS" should be gone, better "BASIC FOR LIFE" hehe  :P but that is redundant with glbasic so none at all is a fit!

I was thinking of a logo to sit on the page's corner. So something a little more spiced up that could fit a new page's visual.

I really enjoy PoUET logos, refresh the page and you get a new one:

but I guess it's out of the question for this case...

...good references though

Those PoUET logos are pretty cool :)

I like your latest design erico, but I also loved your more shiny / glass look also!  :good:

Can the colour choices for the cubes be changed, or are we standing firm with the original logo colours?
I think replacing the white cube (and perhaps the cyan) with a more colourful red, purple, or orange may look good.

current colors are quite cold and there are quite a lot

A change of colour could be good. Every game I've ever written has had a rainbow (or the colours) in it somewhere, so I suggest - err... rainbow colours! :P

I like the new logo idea and the look of the last one although I think it should be like glass. It still falls to Kitty to approve and use of course.

glass causes refractions, make for more information.
also tryed a smoothed reflection with no transparency, white bkg.

rearranged some cubes to match the original format

The bottom one would be good as an icon, especially if it was more than the one size (XP should really have 48 x 48, 32 x 32 and 16 x 16 icons.  64 x 64 and 256 x 256 are needed for Vista/Windows 7
