iPod Touch

My iPod Touch has the same "clicking" defect as you described. It's 2nd gen as well.
It did bug me in the beginning (I bought it soon after it waas released) but to be honest, I have completely forgot about it by now.

It's just  one of those things that bother you when you buy your brand new shiny device, but when the period of "fetishization" is over, you disregard them completely. Now my iPod is just a dev tool, and a nice way to surf the web in the... erm... you know where.

Regarding battery life - yeah it dies way too soon, and this is exactly why iPhone sucks as a cell phone (it drains battery even faster).

Ok thanks mate, you've put my mind at ease.

Heheheh, erm I kinda do that myself now.  Stopped taking books/newspaper to read, now take the iPod.

I really want to develop for it too, and hope I will.  Next mountain/hill to get over is getting my hands on a Mac to compile things on. :)

I would not let them get away with something being loose on my pda... just go to the store and claim a new one.

I guess it is normla these days. When I look at my Google G1, I think it must be produced in China. So cheaply put together. Soon I will get an Ipod Touch too, so I curious if it will have the same problem.

Don't kid yourself, almost everything in your home/workplace/on the way to from is either produced and/or assembled in China. Usually made out of iron or other raw materials from USA and the rest of the world :-)

Even China (the country) is made in China!  Although so is china (bowls, plates etc).  =D
