nice cases!
Seriously? They are both Ack!

They should have gone with the C128 style case (a la 64C) rather than the breadbin for the C64 and that Amiga case is just pure cack - it's a black, featureless box. Nothing like the elegance of say the A600.

Nothing to see, move along. Besides - both are DEAD. May they R.I.P. (Rust In Pieces). :P

hehe for sure, but I like the pure black amiga version that has nothing to do with an original amiga.
next: Pc inside an atary 2600 case?

As a retro geek if the pc spec was a bit beefier I would love to have a c64 sitting on my desk especially as when they first annouced it they claimed it would run Mac OSX (I assume a quick letter from Apple put paid to that claim)

I guess they went for the c64 as its the iconic style and smaller. The c128 case would not fit in the same footprint as a normal PC keyboard.

Dont like the huge fan hole on the back though. They should have gone for 2 smaller ones where the serial and video ports were on the original :)

$295 for case keyboard and USB ports is a bit steep though

I owe my programming career to Commodore, great little starter machines!  Heck, even for beginning programmers today.
But I doubt I'd ever pay that much for nostalgia.

I *would* like an old (or new!) C64 / Vic20 turned into a PC keyboard, guts stripped out.
I'd never really use it (mainly since touch typing on a non-standard 101 key layout would be very hard), but cool for a retro look / keepsake.

I'd love to have a C64C/Amiga case with a high end PC inside (SSD, no moving parts ...). I loved the "robust" feeling of the C64. Also, this could prefectly replace a laptop for my needs (a screen at work and at home, and the beamer for presentations).
