I was able to use GLB and compile programs on windows 8 64 bit on my desktop. I honestly don't care if it does or doesn't, though - I went back to windows 7 after really trying to like windows 8 for a while. It's a really horrid desktop OS. I'm sure it's okay on a tablet, but if I wanted a tablet OS I would buy a tablet OS - Windows 8 is just a mess!

And me too. Windows 8 isn't becoming my regular desktop OS anytime soon.

I do think Windows 8 is very promising tablet OS. If I needed a Windows tablet or was given at work I'd love it.

I guess its a case of "We're not gonna have coffee table PC's if there isn't an OS for it", so least having a tablet OS means hardware manufacturers can now produce lots of touch related goodies. The PC operated home ain't too far away :)

Firewall for the Garage and NOD32 for the front door :D

If they have a C++ interface now, WP8 might be an option to consider.

Wp8 and rt supports c++, so its should been possible to port to these.

Here those platforms could ADD as a platforms to been brought as support.

Perhaps the good thing of Windows 8 it´s like comments SpaceFractal whit RT, it´s another market, in example I suppose the have the windows 8 for very cheaper NoteBooks, and well, when I buy my notebook whit a very short Linux... don´t have applications... perhaps it´s a new interesting or additional Market... offcourse the Phones it´s the most interesting...

spacefractal

There are are limitied offer at 8$. There are 2 days left. Migtbeen we should give a accont to Gernot to make sure we have one? And then can look of if which kind of framework its use.

Hi I just buy a Proffesional Edition for 30€... And runs, very very nice!!! too much people says about win8 it's a shit... But at least the boot up, it's 30 seconds less before whit win7...

I like a lot, and the market Xbox... I think here can be another makert... the games are Indie games, I look somthing like Angry birds and these kinds of games,.... not need to make a AAA game like call of Duty  :D :D =D

erico

Those could be a great platform to support! Another store too. :good:

spacefractal

Windows 8 store would been great to been support.

eventuelly its could been done via a little wrapper in a another language to support the modern UI. I thinks we actuelly does not need those live tiles, but just something icon so we can launch the lecancy appm but here doing that by a wrapper.

So for normal Windows 8 platform, this could been the best way to go without requiring a new platform and using its store.

but for Windows RT, its a different story of course. so If Windows RT is supported in a future glbasic, then Windows Phone 8 should been no brainer at all. Windows Phone 7 is out.
