I updated my app, and get this msg:

try to set the minimum os version to 1.4.5 in appinfo file
MacBook Pro 2,2 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, 8600M GT
Core i3 - 3,07 GHz, 8 GB Ram, 2.5 TB HDD, Geforce GTX 260+ OC

The appinfofile.json has no entry for minimum os...

and if you mean in the Palm website, it is set to 2.0 (I wanted to avoid 1.4.5 mouse problems...)

Ian Price

I just got exactly the same error with my free version of B'lox!

I ensured that the minimum OS in the application was 1.4.5, and there's nowhere else to add this.

I'll wait and see if I get an email before trying again, but I'm going away soon, so it might have to wait a week or so. :(

I think you have to email pdc@palm and it will then be published.  See https://developer.palm.com/distribution/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=12871

Its one of the areas that Palm does appear a bit amaturish.  Hopefully it will be sorted by the time the Tablet comes out

Cheers. :)

I'll see what happens and email PDC if nothing turns up.

[EDIT] Ah sod it - I've emailed them. If they've fecked up then why should we have to wait. If I've fecked up I want to know as soon as possible and ensure that I don't do it again.

Just saw this message (posted today) over at WebOS Develop Center -
QuoteI can confirm that there have been server problems in the submission portal. Last status update I saw indicated that they were actively working on a number of fixes.

Maybe that's causing the issues?

I did mine yesterday though...  People at the Palm forums have mentioned it before too...

Ian Price

Yeah, I had read about this problem before, but forgot about it - especially since B'lox! was accepted on first try.

The submission portal and the website are a complete mess by the sound of things. And don;t even think about viewing the site in IE... :S

heh - I wont.

Yes, that area (plus the fact that people can spam reviews) do make Palm appear amateurish - I think they know about the problems but are unsure about how to proceed (or perhaps are waiting until June to do so).

Mind you, its  a lot better than Apple's stuff :)

Ian Price

There are some things that Apple does really well - being able to update your metadata in real time for instance, being able to buy/download apps via the website or the device and the clarity of the AppStore, but yeah the whole process of getting stuff upto the AppStore (and having to use a mac to do so) sucks big time - give me the HP/Palm method every time. No certification crap. PC and mac users welcomed. Friendly Dev centre (although I've not used the forums on the Apple site). And a quicker turnaround for app submission.

I really do hate having to fill in metadata for every country with HP/Palm though - it accepts worldwide support, so why not have an option to use the same (specified) metadata for each region, including the images if you wish? Or am I missing something?

I only entered the country info once - and I think I deleted all other countries except UK...

Ian Price

When you leave all countries ticked you have to enter metadata for the four main languages - English, French, German and Spanish.

If you said that your app is in spanish, you should enter text in spanish also in the description...

Now, notice that my latest app is translated into 9 languages, and iTunes also have most of them...

HP/Palm do state that the description can be in English for all languages. It's probably not best to do this, but I'd rather it in English than a poorly translated Bablefish/Google version.
