When I try to install the latest update I get a runtime error and the programme terminates.Any ideas?

Hello I have just downloaded the demo from the main site.  I have installed the english version and was ready to check it out.  Every I time I click on the desktop shortcut I get a

This application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.  
Reinstalling the application may fix this problem

I have reinstalled several times and nothing works.

hopefully I am overlooking something simple.

any help would be great.  I cant wait to try out GLbasic.

 After installing,  GLBasic won't start anymore. My OS is WinXP Sp2.

I downloaded the new version this past week and installed it and GLBasic runs just fine and I am using XP SP2.

I am using XP sp2 and have just installed the latest updates, and still have the problem.
