Internet version update check with proxy

Just to let you know, if you're behind an authenticating proxy (like I am at wor... umm... somewhere  ) then trying to do an version check doesn't bring up the proxy authentication window, it just immediately says "you're up to date" even if you're not. I'm not too concerned about this, just thought I'd mention it so you know.

Oh! It uses the IE internet settings. Do you not have the IE configured?

FutureCow

Yes I do, IE at work uses the proxy. It didn't pop up a proxy request at all.

I only installed the demo version on that PC though - is it a demo/full version issue?

Oooo, a proxy! Haven't seen one of those in ages! :-)

Hey Gernot!
I've run a trace across GLBasic while it attempts to update, and FYI here's what it appears to be doing
1) It does read in IE's settings
2) It  sends traffic to the proxy
3) Fails to pop up the authentication window (I need to put my username / password in every time a new application tries to access the internet)
4) Updates the Dream_Design\GLBasic\Updates key in the registry to say it updated.

So in short though it does contact the proxy, it doesn't pop up the authentication window like IE / Firefox do when I try to access the internet. Therefore it doesn't get my password and can't access the internet.

Unfortunately, not only does it not update, it also tells me that I'm running the latest version which I'm not.

If you have a proxy with a password, please set it in IE, or update manually, getting this file:
