HOW TO PLAY

The object of the game is to complete a picture puzzle from a series of puzzle blocks. The game is played with then mouse. Puzzle pieces, bonus items and bombs are removed from the box at the top left of the gameboard, one piece at a time, by clicking on the flashing arrow.

To move a puzzle piece, bonus or bomb, click on it with the mouse and then move your mouse in the desired direction. The items will move until they collide with another item or the edge of the gameboard.

You can get rid of items by moving them through open gateways. Puzzle pieces are placed back in the box - other items are destroyed.

Once the picture is complete you can move onto the next level.

The bonus items currently comprise of fire, water, holly, ivy, lips, mistletoe, knife&fork, turkey, Brussels sprouts, roast potatoes and pigs in blankets (carrots and peas coming soon!). Throw certain bonus items together to obtain bonus points. An extra life is awarded every 50,000 points.

Bombs are bad and will explode after a short time or if they collide with the fire item. So get rid of these as soon as possible. You can douse bombs with water for extra pointage.

Cool!

This looks great, I'll give it a proper go when I get home.

Is it really that bad? Does it not actually work?

HeHe sorry Ian havent had chance to download it yet.  I will do now and I will let you know but I am sure it will be great :)

Just had a quick game.  I like it.  I am a big fan of retro music so you won me over straight away :)
I think the "Holly and the ivy" sound is a nice touch.
I didnt even notice there was a time limit, and about Sh** myself when the timer warning kicked in, as I had it blasting through my stereo.

Only thing I noticed is if you follow the tutorial, you cannot get past the last page and there is no way I could find to exit back to the game without exiting completely and restarting.

All in all I enjoyed it and will play again.  Nice job  :good:

Cheers Leginus. :)

I am actually really pleased you mentioned the "Holly and Ivy" sfx as I'm really proud of it.

As for the timer, I initially didn't have an audio timer count down and it felt lacking (and there was no warning that you were about to lose a life). So I added it, obviously to good effect (;)) However I'm not happy with the beeps - they are uneven in pitch/tone. I did them in SFX, but as there's no perfect control over the sliders, I had to use what I created. They work, but I'm not entirely happy.

Ah yes, the tutorial - I kind of forgot to finish that... and of course as a result you can't return to the main game. Expect an update later.

Awesome. Thanks  =D

Xmas doesn't really happen for me for a few days yet but alcohol & food consumption and late nights have definitely increased so I'm getting there.

Ha Ha. I wish. GLB has proved to have had a dramatic effect on my bank balance though and increased the number of consoles I now own (GP2X F100, GP2X F200, Wiz and iPod Touch) and buying a Mac Mini.

GLB helped to provide a great start to 2011. Lets hope that I can get iPhone development working for me too.

Cheers chaps. :)
