Big News, iPhone IS coming to Verizon Next Month

The iPhone is headed to Verizon and will be available next month.
This was just confirmed at the live event.
Good news for me who is wanting a different phone and a different network.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is Verizon?

Is it an alternative mobile provider?
Where I live, Iphone is available at multiple operators (not t-Mobile exclusive any more) since Christmas. Prices have dropped slightly.
I'm considering getting 16GB iPhone 4, as it is currently at almost the same price as 3GS.

verizon is a cdma provider. cdma is much more available as gsm.

Sorry, this is for the states. Those in Europe who have it available on multiple carriers have had it better than us. 
But now with it on Verizon, we get another operator and new customers to sell games to.
How delightful.
February 10th is the launch. May want to work on getting your game out before then.
