Why not use paint.net ?

Because they have hundrets of windows open. Just like Gimp. I hate it. I tried 3x but always decided to not like it.

I'm the same Gernot - I like MSPaint because it doesn't have moveable widgets and stuff that get in the way. The simplicity in it's design and it's ability to produce great results is often overlooked. I've seen some wonderful imagery from talented people in MSPaint.

You mean the toolbar windows ? They can be hidden and just leave Tools and colour
tool windows open.

I've used Paint Shop Pro 5 for years, they gave away free copies many years ago
it's probably the last version before it became all bloated, i have a couple of cover CD's with
it on it if you want one

I never liked paints ability to only work on one image at a time.

MSPaint is definitely limited in it's abilities compared to most image production tools, but that's part of it's charm for me. I'm not an expert, so don't tend to need more advanced features. It does exactly what i need it to do 90+% of the time.

I wish the 4x zoom was standard on the toolbar though - it's too big a jump sometimes from 2x to 6x then 8x. At least it's accessible from a menu. I like Windows7 MSPaint's mouse zoom, but hate the rest of it. Ribbons etc. can bugger off.
