Hi at all,

The resolution max to compile for the GP2 is 320x240. But in other compilers he reaches 640x480 FULL SCREEN.

 Why GLBASIC no?

Tnk1000 for reply.

You can set the resolution to what ever you want (full screen modes will be limited to the platform though).  The Demo version of GLBasic is limited to a maximum of 640x480 but the premium version is unrestricted and you can choose any screen resolution.

equinox

it is not exact. they have answered me that  is not supported for the gp2 640x480.

patience is a limitation...  :o((((((

Reading the Wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GP2X -

"Maximum Resolution: 720*480 (scaled to 320x240 screen resolution using built in scaling chip)"

My interpretation of that text is that any larger resolution is scaled down to 320x240. It's quite an odd approach, if my understanding is correct.
I came. I saw. I played.

I would guess that is for easier backwards compatibility with games written for linux and higher resolutions + video playback.

This is for output on tv =P
Sry for my english

I was talking about scaling it down to the 320x240 format. 720x480 is ofcourse for TV output.

XaMMaX

btw, is it real to use 720x480 with glbasic on gp2x for tv output?

I haven't gotten TV output working yet (no TV :-) but when I had the chanse to try it, it didn't work but that might have been the scart contact on the TV in question.

OK, I'll have a look. Maybe the GP2X can scale 640x480 down to the screen size. It's no good performance, then. 640x480 quadripples the drawing effort.
