I will be polling for a genre and a name to go with it.
Looking forward to everyones suggestions.

This project is a huge undertaking, and it will require many resources from start to finish.  Nothing determined in this message is permanent, and is subject to change. The final big picture and final goals of this project, is not yet worked out. There is NO guarantee this project will ever take flight. In the early stages of this project a few goals have been set, and anyone is welcome to share thier; ideas, thoughts, documentation, external links, commentary, or anything related to flying, and programming. All flight enthusiasts are welcome: Real Pilots, Simulator Aces, Crashtest dummies, Hobbyists, Artists, Old Grouches.  This thread is the start of a long road to a high place in the sky.

Keeping in mind, I have been a flight simulator enthusiast since the days of the AppleIIe computers of the 1980's, and have been involved in MMO flight sims till this day.  As a MMOFS enthusiast myself, i personally prefer Military Combat Sims, and I think this will be the focus of this project. I have put this message in a public place to attempt to accumulate a roster of volunteers with similiar interests to attempt to achieve this goal of getting in the air. Uncle Hemlos wants YOU, sign up in this thread or send me a PM to join the roster.

I will maintain the NEWSBOX at the top of this message, this is where you can find some more info as ATP, as time progresses...you can find an acronym list at the bottom of this message also.

- See you in the air,
- S! Hemlos

Huge amount of MOJO towards you for having the guts to take on this!  :nw:

Military or civilian simulator, combat or flight only?

I might help with 3d modeling/texturing. I can promise nothing but missed deadlines and unanswered e-mails, but as a person who grew on flight-sims (way back when they were the most popular genre, before FPS-es, eh...) I would love to help you out.

You rock, i will depend on your missed emails and failures to keep up with a deadline.

I dont know which type to go for, i will see who wants to help, and i will take a poll i suppose, itll have to be a community thing if alot of people help, and theyll have to like what theyre doing.

Ever play Air warrior online(i was Cz, BoOoM with skykights)? Aces high?
Battleground Europe is my current favorite....very realistic, but it has issues with servers though...too many players i think

@amarliani
Welcome to the GLBFS2010 crew!
Thank you buddy, i will try to get you some information and images to play with.
Do you know how to make images? If so, you can work on a logo.

@domius: i decided military...i like air to air combat.
But also....i want to include helicopters...the time era is undecided.

@everyone: if you frequent this thread, you can use message #1(top of thread) as the main reference to progress of this big project.

Thumbs up for taking on such a large project!  :good:
I'm just lending moral support  =D as I'm not a huge flight sim fan (though put in a "World Air Race" type competition so there's a mode for single players that's more a game and less a sim and that may change.)  I will be keeping an eye on progress with interest though!

Post by: Hemlos on 2009-Nov-26
You mean like the "Red Bull Air Race" ?

I think its a good idea...i dont see why its not possible....it would just take time to get it all prepared. As i have a plan for the sim, which is actually an air to air combat sim.
Its more a game than a sim. But since we are in alpha stage right now, i am open to any suggestions, and all suggestions.

Ps what do you think of the name? Wonder if ms will try to sue me.

Check this out, its exciting and informative:

Yup, the Red Bull Air Race was what I was thinking of - but it would be better to have multiple planes flying at once - one plane flying is boring.
I am open to any suggestions, and all suggestions.

Ps what do you think of the name? Wonder if ms will try to sue me.[/url]

So a suggestion of "make a car sim instead" is welcome?

I don't think they could get too upset about using "flight simulator" in the name as your product names are too dissimilar - but you could always go with "flying simulation" to be on the safe side.

I personally am not a MMO fan, I never play them as by the time I get a game, everyone else has moved on to the next big thing, and finding people I want to play against at a suitable time is usually an impossibility due to time differences. My biggest bugbear is that they rely on master servers and the servers don't hang around forever.

My personal choice is something that is fun as a single player game - then make that multiplayer. I'd like to see an emphasis on doing things (shooting, precision flying etc) rather than flying for 20 minutes to get to the next objective. I'd like to see a game made around flying races against other planes in canyons/cities etc. Any sort of 6-degrees-of-freedom plane game situated 10 km up in the air where there's nothing other than the occasional enemy or pelican to run into signifies severe levels of boredom for me.
Or make a racing car game  :P

*laugh* I notice an option to make a car game instead has appeared on the poll. Don't change it to a racing game on my behalf. If you want a flight sim, make a flight sim! (Just make it a FUN flight sim!)

Hey, how about a Sci Fi - Flight Simulation with 2 or 3 Cities/Airports, some little Missions ("bring 5 passengers to city A"/"take the route across the hills [fast wind]), if you want, there's also the alternative to make trading, war, combat missions, sport's - flying and so on...

If necessary, I can make a little concept this weekend!

I voted for WW2 or modern with helicopters. Also, the bomber-only option is interesting.
Also, when I say modern, I think about 1982 Cold War. :)

I'm also for more of a semi-arcade approach. With realistic flight model, damage and limited ammunition, but without complex controls.

Here are some of my favourite flight sims (which almost all have an unique twist to the subject):

- LHX attack chopper: arcade helicopter sim, with multiple flyable choppers. I still play this in DosBox, it's perfect for quick arcade play.
http://www.mobygames.com/game/lhx-attack-chopper (http://www.mobygames.com/game/lhx-attack-chopper)

- F-15 Strike Eagle II - same as above. Arcade flight-sim that almost anyone can pick up instantly
http://www.mobygames.com/game/f-15-strike-eagle-ii (http://www.mobygames.com/game/f-15-strike-eagle-ii)

- Aces of the Pacific / Aces Over Europe - these were fun as they allowed you to play with both classic fighters AND bombers. Not many games allowed you to fly torpedo bomber into action!
http://www.mobygames.com/game/aces-of-the-pacific (http://www.mobygames.com/game/aces-of-the-pacific)

- Tornado - this is probably my favourite flight-sim I never play! :) It's just too damn complex, but fun at the same time. I love flight sims where you aren't flying the fastest and deadliest plane on the battlefield, and Tornado is exactly that! Also, there was huge amount of strategy involved: you had to plan your mission in advance and mainly go on autopilot through the mission, flying low over the ground to avoid SAM and enemy fighters.
http://www.mobygames.com/game/tornado

All of the above would work perfectly for a MMO, with some modifications. There could be persistent battlefield where ground forces are controlled by AI and air forces by human players. Ground forces are involved into combat that's basically tied without the intervention of air forces.
Players can fly fighter bombers and help the AI win the ground battle or get into fighters and get involved in PvP combat.

There could be SAM and AAA sites that regenerate/respawn periodically. That way, players will first have to use bombers to destroy SAM sites, in order to enable fighters and bomers to attack enemy forces.

A mini Battlefield Europe (WW2), would be nice, plane missions only, strategic bombing, protect the fighter group, dog fighting etc...

@WPShadow:
Your mind is flowing with pure creativity, dont ever stop that.
For now, we will stick to the current poll, and when the poll is over...we will make a new poll and i will see which if your ideas directly pertain to the direction of our next vote.

@Bigsofty:
I like the way you think Big guy, i think we will be flying together one day ;)
Are you interested in joining our team of developers, (pick a catagory from the list in first message)?
You dont have to join the roster, involvment in the discussions is MUCH appreciated indeed.

@everyone:
Dont be discouraged if the game you want isnt the first to be made.
I plan on doing other projects, as this one will likely only be a proof-of-concept, and not nessecarily a commercial production...likely it will go into the GLBasic showroom, but no guarantees there.

What i can guarantee:
We will be having a series of voting here....when this poll is over, i will create a more refined poll directly based on the results of this one.
Once we get some descisions done, i will begin to make standardized development outlines.

could become a theme, for instance by adding standard pylon racing as well (Reno & other venues).

Ahhh Welcome to the discussion Ocean!

I will add this information to the research document, if this is the direction we go in.
Your 2 cents, just as above, will be priceless in the end.
If you would like, i can add you to the Research Squad Roster?

As someone who is interested in content creation... I say let's stick to real world machinery. Lots of reference materials around. Go Sci-Fi and design jumps into the picture and that is one waaay bigger bite to chew.

Also, for commercial app - watch for copyrights. Military planes are probably safe, but civilian, competition planes and venues are probably trademarked and that == trouble. There's a reason you don't see many Formula 1 indie games around.
Better to play safe from start, than to get cease-and-desist when it's finished.

Well put, indeed, i will add this to a research outline, DOTDWT.
I will add this acronym to the list in message 1.
Depending on the direction we take...seem to use it alot right now.

I never planned on using "Redbull" in the name , nor anything involving it within the program. However, i was thinking more along the lines of the idea, of how the races are played. Ocean stated, ideas refering to other types of flying races, which are more a standardized race as opposed to a namesake style. DOTDWT if the air races are the winner. :)

Well, stick around, it just might end up that way.....

Once i get a general idea where we go with planes(if), then we will be voting on time era for the planes.........and it might happen, that in the game, you can choose a time period for the race, having a theme for planes in each race!
...i think it might be possible we end up in a sopwith camel

PS. if you havent voted, please your vote is important to us, even if you dont ever play or join our discussions. The general public concensus is important here.
You can use all 4 votes, or just one.

Progress report:

Hi team,

I have not been idle with this project, even though the poll process is going to be time consuming.

A "Proof of concept" project has been going along well.
What i have been working on is a helicopter simulator.
So far, it is airborne, and flying with 6dof.
Some physics have been added like friction, gravity, and wind.
I have been building flight indicator systems also: gps coords, air speed, altimeter.
The joystick controls do very good, and precision is good.
I will be adding multiple camera views with the hatswitch in the next few days.
A timer system to make it relative to everyones gpu speed is in the works...this is by far the most challenging part so far, as having variable frame rates is imperitive.
The HUD is 2d right now, but i will be adding a 3d hud in the weeks to come.
Again, this project im working on is "Proof of concept", which will demonstrate the 6 degrees of freedom attached to objects, and flight dynamics.
By the time our polling is over, i will have a flight dynamics template completed.

I need some information, maybe you guys can help?
What i need is feedback on other flight sims....what is the average frame rate from different simulators.....Battleground europe, aces high, MS Flight Simulator, XFLight, etc.
This will give me a general idea of what to expect from the gpu's and what speed range i should be concerned with. Please any feedback is essential and much appreciated.

S!
Hemlos

something on the likes of EPIC on the amiga would be nice. Now if that option for a race game is not a joke, I'm found of stunt car race hehe.

if it could be a sci fi, maybe something as cool and complex as mechwarrior would be a gift (ships instead of robots of corse).

One good sci fi sim old school I think is a good reference is WARHEAD, check it here:

I think im going to steer toward a game like BGE(wwiionline):
www.battlegroundeurope.com
In bge, you can multicrew aircraft, with a gunner, or you can fly a load of paratroopers to the fight.

I have an idea, which is a variation of BGE, im going to go for it.
This game, the difference will be instead of ww2, itll be Cold war to present era, with AH-1 Cobra attack helicopters, and infantry.

Youl be able to multicrew a helicopter, pilot and gunner.
Pilot will have mounted rockets, and the gunner will use the machine gun turret mounted in the front.
Also, i think im going to add the heuy for skilled pilots, to move troops into battle, and move supplies.
I dont want it to be with towns, itll be more with bases, and troops taking over new ones.
The scenery will be mountainous, possibly afganistan.
It will be mmo, but this goal wont be reached for a few months i suspect.
I have started building an AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter, and it is looking good so far.

Ok team, next poll will be for a name.
Also, i need someone familiar with helicopters to test my model soon.
And if anyone wants to start doing 2d 3d or sounds, let me know, ill give you a small project.

What do you think of the first helicopter?
Screenshot of a high resolution AH-1Z SuperCobra.
I will make the typical Huey next.

Dom, we need 4 infantry soldiers, which works like moon.md2 in the 3d animation sample of GLBasic.

Ok dom you asked for it:
Make a A soldier, it will need to do with an m16 weapon: lean, run, walk, crouch(and move crouched), stand normal, stand at attention, lay prone, laying down and crawling(!), throw grenades from 3 positions(stand, crouch prone), and cheer.

ALso on the plate for 3d stuff in this order:
-Terrain map
-Trees
-Rocks
-Forward Bases (tents or small buildings)
-Tunnels(for tunnel wars, which will attach through mountains or towns)
-Small towns with 5 kinds of buildings to start, and 2 lane dirt roads.
-Aircraft Carriers, PT boats, jets(for show only)

1. I will have decals which can be editable by a player or me....this will be easy.
I can have a simple small object floating right above the skin of the chopper for details.
Will be able to add squad flags or country etc.
Or even rank.

2. For the website, www.kilu.de is absolutely perfect!
And for a main image you can use the image i posted above.
Ill make more images as i go along, you can edit these to make them fancier.

For information to add to the website, you can use the NB information at the top of this thread. I will update the NB with important stuff, you can do with the info as you wish.

@Everyoneelse:
I got a helicopter attached to the quaternion...although at extreme angle the object gimbal locks, this will have to be something i move on with because it wont be a usabilty issue...at extreme angles...you crash anyway. lol
I made changes to the name poll, please check if your vote was cancelled.

SSAMIGB.  Yeah maybe not.  "Battle for Bagels!".  "Mighty Missile Power Rangers!".  "Hello Kopter" and have all the aircraft coloured pink.  "Pew-Pew, the MMO".  "I went to war and all I got was this lousy t-shirt".  "Eat this!" -- hmm actually that would be a good name for "Cooking Mama: The MMO".  "Missile Envy".

On a more serious note.  "Crash and Burn" -- which sounds more like a Car Wars/Mad Max style car combat game.  Hmm now that could have been fun.  Erm anyway.  The name is probably already in use and doesn't really fit.  "Firefight: Missile Lock" -- unfortunately someone already seems to be using 'Firefight'.  In all honesty I think coming up with a decent name that isn't already used is going to be tough as war related games is a saturated market.  I haven't voted on a name as I don't really like any of the ones suggested in the poll.  Not that I've helped come up with anything better either as I did start out just being silly...  Maybe "Missile Lock: Crash and Burn".

I'll be watching this with interest but doubt I'll be much help or use.  Other than testing it on old hardware maybe. :)

I agree with Hatonastick

helicopter game I loved was ZEEWOLF,
the name was also cool, maybe something on this line?

GEEWOLF? hehe

"Blade Spinner" ?  Most choppers have a pair of them and you wouldn't be tied to scene/scenario.  Also alludes to 'blade runner'

Good ideas for neutrality in name, but i think im going steer away from helicopter referals in the name.

Also, Blade Runner is a Harrison Ford movie.

Screenshot of the first flying chopper here, its an alpha mode chopper with no gun..but the rotor is spinning.

Other progress....working on tail and gun rotations...and also implementing SpriteZ3d for special effects, like smoke, explosions and bullets.

Edit:
And quaternion bones, and quaternion "freelook" camera, which get rigidly attached to quaternion player vectors...fun.

Website: I've begun to set up a test site. Adress will be http://afsg2010.pytalhost.com . Please don't be too annoyed by the ads popping up first - that's why this site ist free of any charge for us. I think this will work for our working/planning phase.

News:

I just completed the freelook cam, it is rigid to the flight model.
Its rusty, but it works as if you were sitting in the pilot seat looking around.
This is great, because the real hardcore players will be using infrared mouse head gear for freelooking.

When in freelook cam, it "feels" more natural in the way you look out your aircraft.

Ill be implementing this for infantry too.

Ahh.. ran into some problems with setting up Joomla on that site, therefore I choosed an other of which I knew is quite secure. Not one of those "spam me till I'm dead" sites... But it will be just for the development phase, as I think. We can't use one of those free hosters for the real site later on - just too many ads on all of them.
BTW: Whom do you want me to add to the editor's list? Whole development team, I think? And any idea in which direction the name will go? It's hard to think about any logo or so without that name, so I will at first raise a sort of "blank" site, just to see if you can agree with my basic thougts about site design.

To reitterate on physics:

The physics will be based on the actual dimensions of the first helicopter.
This object will be the reference to world scale, which will have a direct affect on scale for altitude and speed.

So it is 60 feet tall in the 3d world....in real life it is 20 feet tall, so the world scale is 3:1, which means for every 3 positions...it is one foot...and this is how all distance and speed will be modified.

And subsequent objects added to the world must be directly scaled relative to the first heli in the 3d creation program.

And update of progress:

The helicopter looks great now...with more realistic detailing, including a particle system showing smoke exhaust from the engine, and particles for dust on the ground moving away from chopper, and also the tail rotor is spinning.
(screenshot below)
The game is ready for a terrrain world object.

"STRAFING : Scene/venue"

Good suggestion.
Remember tho..this isnt just a flight sim...it will start as one, gowever, it will become more like a combat sim in the end.

(got another major programming endeavor on my way, as you know... ;)

mmhmm, good luck with it!

if you get your chopper sim in a flyable condition and get to a point where you are simulating a cockpit I could help you with testing your simulation of the primary flight instruments

Its flying, and now the details need to be filled in!

(basic six) and avionics (VOR/ILS/ADF/GPS, etc.).

You can help me with information about instrumentations?

Well, for avionics aids, this will certainly be "game".
GPS based mapping system to indicate your position, and location anywhere using the mouse on the map.
ADF...you select base, or friendly aircraft, the ADF standard pointer.

These analog guages will be made: ADF, compass, altimeter, speedometer(IAS), slip indicator, a horizon, fuel, oil, am i missing anything not related to landing systems?

how do you like the ndis so far(not done)?

With due respect to Ocean and any other people who know planes, though I'm all for correctness just remember (for anything to do with the game) that most gamers won't give a hoot what you call the instruments, what most are actually showing and how closely they resemble and act like the real thing. All they'll care about is that the cockpit roughly correct and anything in it is just background graphics that act as support to the primary objective (assuming that objective is a fun game). If you want an accurate sim then put features in like dials to change air/fuel mixes or whatever highly technical details you have in a real plane (I'm guessing, I have no knowledge of a cockpit other than what Microsoft Flight Sim gave me 10 years ago :D ) - but if you want a game then my suspicion (and I might very well be wrong) is that all gamers are likely to want is say altitude and radar that they actually need to play, and everything else just needs to look vaguely like an instrument that belongs on an aeroplane. Whether further instruments are correct and display what they do in the real world won't be relevant as gamers just simply want to make the plane point in a direction and get on with playing the game, not worry about the real world pushing of 12 buttons, pulling 4 levers and checking 8 instruments to make a real aircraft actually do it.

In summary, if it's to be a game rather than a real sim, please ensure that you don't end up sacrificing playability for accuracy. Show me one racing car game where you have to do something to make sure your seatbelt is done up for example and I'll show you a game that no-one plays.

Im a player on Battlegrounds Europe, and ill say this, there are definetly people who play because of the realism in the planes...however, the planes are simple, they are very accurate flying as the real thing would. But youre right, seatbelts would prolly turn some players off.

The guages, are what they are, and i need to be correct during development so as to not get confused about what is being researched and made.

S!

ps. schranz youre on the lists now, and about the bassmod...sounds cool, but i dont think we need this? PLAYSOUND will work on any platform?

Ocean,
I was just trying to say that I - as a person who knows only that planes tend to fly and have and engines  - will probably have a different take on it to someone who actually knows about planes. I didn't intend to suggest that you (or anyone else who really knows about planes) want the game to be a certain way.
I have a deep respect for game makers getting advice/suggestions/etc from people who really know about a game's subject, I'm sure any input you could give to the realism aspects of the game will help to make it a better end product.

I'll go now before I manage to put my foot in my mouth again  =D

Sorry i havent wrote here in a while..

Ive been bashing my head against the wall trying to obliterate mr. gimbal-lock for good.

I think i found a solution, and i am currently in the process of testing.....
What ive found, is how to rotate the actual vertices of an object, using a shader.
This should eliminate the need to use GLBasic(opengl rotate) x_rotation.

So far i have the roll working...now i need to figgure out how to merge this with the other 2 rotations, pitch and yaw.

This is only one method using a shader...
I also have an idea to completely eliminate angles, and directly translate a quaternion matrix into a shader to rotate all vertices directly in the gpu....its a brainstorm, but it just might work because in the gpu, a vertex is actually readable as a vector.
Since a vertice can be read as a vector, i can try to use the quaternion matrix to multiply with to automatically rotate the vertices of the object.
And thats exciting!
 :good:

Title: Re: New Poll: Help name a multiplayer FS/CS game.
Post by: Hemlos on 2009-Dec-20
exciting indeed what you might be digging up there.  Would this method (if it works) still be general enough in the OpenGL world that most systems out there could run it?

cheers
Ocean

Yes, it can run on other systems.
However, im only considering the fact that it works on an old 3d card, an nvidia gforce 6(6800gt) .
Also, i think i will need help referencing a quaternion matrix to rotate a vertice matrix...so chances are...No it will never be done unless i have some stroke of luck and make the algorithm work.

Dear everyone interested in the "A flight sim game 2010"
Sorry i have not been active here.
Ive been stumped by the gimbal effect of 3d objects.

Good(or better) news...I was taking a shower, and had a dataphiny!
I solved the gimbal problem, theoretically, by using a different way to render everything.
**6dof should be achievable soon***
I will need to start from scratch...and i will still be able to use the Quaternion library.

Im shooting for a project start date: January 1, 2011.
Maybe sooner, if i can finish a different project( dice game for iphone ).

It will be a fresh start so to everyone whom is still interested in helping with this project..
Im gonna be going solo with the project background stuff.
However, if you are still interested in beta testing and sharing your ideas...
...feel free to continue participating as i keep the thread updated with more info.

Also, The goal is different now:
It will be the creation of a 3d flight engine, not an actual game.
My goal will be to sell the game engine.

To prove the functionality, I will create a small game with it myself....a helicopter combat flight simulator.
The possibilities will be endless(a programmer would be able to create a "freespace"  genre, or race cars.)

Just a little update on progress.......none directly.
However, SpriteZ3d lib, and Object Analyzer tool are going to be the projects that push this sim into the future.
And, there will be shader technology added for some nice effects.
It has been a learning experience to say the least, and i think i have the lighting system in order too.

Best simple heli game ever for me is zeewolf I and II. Real amazing stuff. Great music too.

But people may think that is not a ´simulator´ so, the best heli simulator there is in this world, must be Coala.

Back in 1995, I was really impressed by the virtual cockpit (first ever?) and again the music.
Really nice stuff.
The style is kind of like Armour-geddon I and II, so it was quite fast, and pretty back on those days (fast because I had an a4000 :P).

Well, as for 3d cockpits, we seem to have a new mechwarrior coming up, and the older itterations of it were awesome.
lots of  :offtopic: sorry.

edit: you can get a general idea of coala and zeewolf down at http://www.lemonamiga.com/  don´t forget to play the music too while you are there.:)

I found coala in a list, but the website sends me to flikr.
Coala looks like a sim my father used to use with his R/C controller plugger into a r/c DAC in the computer.

My best helo sim experience was in microsofts flight simulator....

I liked it so much, i imported the models into Combat flight simulator to shoot down some WW2 birds :-D

ps. dont forget to check up on your vote in the poll at top.
Title: A good chuckle
Post by: Hemlos on 2012-Jul-01
I just had a good chuckle when i looked up quaternions and gimbal lock.
While browsing google, I noticed a link to opengl!
Of course they have a solution(mmmhmmm)...so i check it out in the forums!

Turns out, they are having a collision of minds there.
3 guys with 3 certain points of view....hmm who is right?!
None of them are right, and no one could agree on a solution, because they all believe theyre correct.
The reason they couldnt resolve the problem, is because they didnt take into affect how opengl actually rotates an object. They were only considering a camera.
What they dont realize is.....cameras dont gimbal with quaternions, and objects do!
I knows how to fix it....the solution is far more sophisticated than some euler-matrix-quaternion conversion.
It involves multiple view ports, sprites, and only one quaternion calculation.

-Chuckling lightly, Hemlos
Title: Re: Helicopter Flight Simulator Game, 2012, alpha
Post by: kanonet on 2012-Jul-01
So if its is so much sophisticated with quaternions, why do you use them, just cause its cool to be one of the few that understand them? :nana:
Use the matrix math that the 3DES uses, which is what i do (with improvements and bugfixes, you know where to find it, right  =D). It is fast, easy to understand and dont have gimbal lock on camera, nor objects.
Title: Re: Helicopter Flight Simulator Game, 2012, alpha
Post by: kanonet on 2012-Jul-01
Of cause i know how to force a gimbal lock and and of cause i tested it many times, which is why i can say: there is no gimbal lock for camera and objects in my ESlite!

Here is a quick explanation how it works:
there are many ways to represent the exact same rotation with many different values for each axis, so if there is the danger of a gimbal lock in one representation, it just switches to an other representation that displays the same, but does not have a gimbal lock:
-rotation is not represented with angles form 0..360 but from -180..180
-when you change the yaw it sometimes changes the pitch too
Just short explanation, google if you want to need more (or look in the code). If you dont believe me, just test it on your own, you know where to find my lib.
Title: Re: Helicopter Flight Simulator Game, 2012, alpha
Post by: Hemlos on 2012-Jul-01
Well, i gave it a "whirl"
Nothing but errors, and i dont have the patience to fix it.
Have you tested the rotation matrix in your lib?
Title: Re: Helicopter Flight Simulator Game, 2012, alpha
Post by: kanonet on 2012-Jul-01
Hmm starnge there should be exactly no error if used right - i did not include a test project, so it maybe is not to easy to find out how to use it. But match did it, so i guess there is no problem.
Of cause i did test everything thats in there.

Dont call just create(), its an object.
If you want want an camera just do it so:
Code: GLBasic [Select]
LOCAL camera AS TEntity
camera.CreateCamera(0.1, 1000, 45)
camera.Position(10,10,10)
camera.LookAt(0,0,0)
etc.
