Title: Android GPS Test
Post by: spicypixel on 2013-Jun-25
Could you please test this apk and let me know if the app is successful in grabbing an image of your general gps location. APK can be downloaded from here http://www.mediafire.com/download/r3bzq5cu9xom34t/gps.apk (http://www.mediafire.com/download/r3bzq5cu9xom34t/gps.apk)

Please find enclosed the source and project files for those wishing to dabble themselves. Please be aware this contains AMPOS zones library, ANDROID_EXTRAS_1.1 functionality and my TinyFramework setup (scaling all devices) so you might have to look at the code in more detail to understand everything but the general usage logic is simple enough.

As this uses AndroidExtras 1.1 to compile this you need to download and follow the instructions for setting up this (http://www.glbasic.com/forum/index.php?topic=9166.msg78454#msg78454) first.

Once set up enjoy the attached project files and source.

First start with no gps enabled
Give me no coordinates after enabling.
Next start runs fine with 6O fps
I get coordinates but no pic.
Galaxy s2

The pic is grabbed based on the co-ords from the thumbnail generated on google maps, some places have a thumb others don't might be that. You can always try again in different locations :D

oh cool!  Haven't tried it yet but will do later!

Are you using the Android Extra's stuff for GPS?  If so, that would be awesome - nice to see people making use of it :)
