Interesting visual representation of how much code goes into different projects:-
http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/visualizations/million-lines-of-code/ (http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/visualizations/million-lines-of-code/)
Simple iPhone game: ~10 thousand lines of code (seems about right)
World of Warcraft server: ~27 million lines of code
Average modern high-end car: ~10 billion lines of code
Wow!!
And since when is the number of lines of code important?
If you compare a car to a computer-game, you have to include all the drivers and all the other os-components into your games number of lines.
This sounds like the famour compare of apples to oranges. :-)
It's not important, but it shows how inefficient most coders are! :P ;)
And why we need to get back to cars that don't have computers running them so that you can actually fix them yourself :P
Ours actually have a heatsink that is very similar to one in computers so I could change it myself :-)

Personally, my knowledge of fixing cars extends about as far as recognising that auto repair shops are where to take mine when it breaks down (and a basic understanding of electronics). If modern cars are so dependent on code, maybe I can actually do something to fix them. :S
Don't snub your nose at me, mechanic. I'm a
coder. 8)
