Title: Selling Games via my website
Post by: Omadan on 2013-Apr-21
Hi guys,

I have a quick question.

I have intentions on selling my games for PC via my own website.  Which is the best method to use for (paypal).

Do I need to script all myself in PHP, or has anyone used external programs to carry out everything for you. eg... ejunkie.com

I welcome your advice.

Thanks

hi Omadan I'm not sure if Paypal it's the best, but surely it's the most popular...

I think paypal it's the best for this kind of payments, they don't retain too much money and it's very faster, I think much better than put a bank account...

Take a look to this (Paypal from Mobile)..
https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/mobile-apps

Not only if you sell in the future your Mobiles App, too perhaps some guy in the bus or another place look your game and can buy... after for install in your PC.

Another way, but for this it's needed money and a good game, not a AAA, but a complex game, it's sell in Box whit manuals, whit nice Complements... I speak a lot whit "Profesional Gamers" and they hate what are doing huge enterprises like Nintendo, Sony and so on... they want a game whit a physic box, manuals and all this things, don't want a link download and nothing more... I think it's something similar to people like paper Books or simply a .pdf into her iPad... Perhaps the most easy way for do this, it's make a Crowdfunding.

Some alternatives to Paypal... Take a look, perhaps Paypal ins't the best choice  :)

Hi Mental and thanks for your quick responses.

I was more into jumping into something like:
http://www.fastspring.com

To be honest all the work is done for you etc... I cannot afford to use my time on this, my time is just used for programming etc...

Theres also this one:
http://www.digitalgoodsstore.com

They charge from 5-8% whenever a sale is complete, but at least it works.

Thanks.

https://gumroad.com is great, and allows for a little pop-up shop in your website, which the client never leaves.
