It seems to be a good thing for those who already have android games going. (for GACK too!)
I haven´t read to the full extend yet.

So, are you in?
Well, I´m in but I have no game :S
First game is still going to take a month to finish, all beta tests and stuff, but I sure want to deliver it on android.
My case apart, maybe those of you that have apps/games already done can take part?
Maybe GACK Gernot?
I do have a list of stores here I would like to have my stuff available, but it is always good to take place on a new one.
If the backup from samsung is as strong, it could mean they are going to promote a lot the first apps/games so to promote their own store.
Sounds good to me! ;)
I think I speak whit they guy of this page when I did the Fanstasy Bricks for promote... BUt I think he tolds about only promote PC Indie Games...
For sell games I think the best Place it's Steam, now they have support for Linux, and I think this can be a good market for us...
If we are a bit more Smart, we think in make a serious Group Game.... And we can have a very very complex and profesional Game... :bed:

Yepp, thats a brilliant idea!
Hmm, EA are behind this portal(-1), of claims the the indie devs get 100% revenue but this decreases over time to 70%. This brings it inline with the Apple App Store eventually, kinda sneaky if you ask me.
a bit late I saw this thread, so I have just joined and then I see what happens tomorrow. I will try with Genius Greedy Mouse with version 1.3.1, which works very well on Android (just updated on Google Play today).
Also be aware of this...

Good read. I had hints that EA is not the best company there is. Comments on the article and on gamasutra kind of states similar but they are very scarse.
I will give it better thoughts, it is still a while till I have to use any store.
But this could be safe, I mean, it is not that they are stealing your stuff or anything.
If payment and fees became a burden, I can always drop out.
very interesting. Look like they have too complicated upload producere, so hope fully they have leant about that when they open the new portal.
For me there is no seance to upload so many times for the extract same APK.
For me there would been moce seance to do for each Android version they used and want to support, and not by screensize (which in Greedy Mouse designed to been support any resoulution).

While it is true that together we can cough up an extreme game benefiting from each one´s abilities, it is also hard to do a group-job specially considering free time and money.
I have done my share of group forum projects way back on amos factory, it is a tough thing to pull.
I have done some here too. While some I was able to keep up, others I simply couldn´t for personal reasons.
For those I could not, I do feel bad. But alas we must move forward.
I do wish to work together with more people, as it is clear that together we can reach more.
But currently, I think it is better that I first pull my stuff together, have a few self-done games going and selling, and then, to look for people to tag with. I think the generalist experience of completing and releasing a few projects is important to mature this idea.
But no doubts that together we can rule the world! :good: ;)
Now it's a different service, and I try to contact them. I have just replied to the email I got around info about subject a app. So it's let a try what it's happens. The game in subject is of course Genius Greedy Mouse. The only glbasic I have finished yet (which took some time as well).
of course there is some installation issues and I have a bit some trouble to upload a file. Howover even the zipfile they got, they have still have som install issues. Nothing I have seen before. Howover I do have registred a Samsung App account and then hopefully can get approved the commercial status (they require a lots of info, and not all I can give).
Howover I have ordered a little Samgsung Tab2, which I first have next week, but its a different screensize than all other tables I have, so its not 100% due this one (I saw that table last year and I really liked it, but did just never brought that).
When I get the tablet, then I will see why the install wont happens (while here its have not have been such a issue). Its property some sign issue, while the Google Play version works nice.
Also they dosent use the Google Play License Service (while the internal DRM they have totally been deprected), Samsung uses its own, but its very similar (but by now its crash on a simple Handler() object, nothing the drm to do, but time was just not with me.
So im are serious trying this service and hopefully I can get the install as well commercial status in work (last one do also take time as well).
Good to know Spacefractal.
I should be picking up a galaxy note II later today (it is at my parents waiting for me ;)) and hope to start the android thing.
I wish I won´t get into too many problems with android, other then having to adapt the game´s layout to touch control :puke:.
for me, im diddent like the assest copy, which was too slow, so Im implemeted my own, which is very transperancy. Same with the orientation issue (not the swap x/y issue, which is fixed). Both issues can been fixed by the java communication calls throught. But good luck to you too.
howver its a long weekend to me to I get that device....
Im will write back here, after checking what its happens with installation thing.

Don´t scare me :O
I have hopes things will work out fine and straight out of the box (with the help from a set of bookmarked posts on the android subject :P), I only need landscape mode and don´t have much data to load.
Good thing we will be adding these 2 devices to the current list of devices, and we can check if GLB is doing fine on them. :good:
Now would not take this thread offtype, but I will write more how it's going to submit Greedy Mouse using this 100% indie for sure, and issues you may seen.
Ps. Landscape mode can been boorked on some devices, due glbasic not calling a special java function to fix it. I hope gernot a day will implement that in a recent beta.

Feel free to hijack the thread.
On the landscape mode, I think I saw I could fix it to it, like only use landscape, no rotation or anything. I hope.
But next week should see me with the phone in hand and some tests going.
hihi and good luck with your new phone :-D. Its was you that started the thread, and Im took the serious about this indie program and still do, but Im must wait to tuesday, where my tab2 device arrive. In the while I have updated the bank accounts and submitted it, so I hope Samsung approve the commercial status, which is there im are now. After that, Im need to fix the install issue (property a sign issue), and then resend it to Yumi, which is my contact person at 100% indie (he is a really nice guy).
I was faced the orientation issue in my newest project, which is also landscape mode only (unlike Greedy Mouse, which now uses "Sensor"). If its happens, then look on the thread how I fixed it. Im guess its the only issue you might face.
Thanks space! I'm now toying around the brand new galaxy note2 :)
It is quite a nice machine, can't wait to try Glb on it ;)
Should be giving a go this week.
Although android is a bit strange, I'm quite super happy with it.
:-).
Currently, I have some issues at samsung according being commercial status. I'm got rejected due missing iban bank number on the bank document....
:( ...the marvels of burocracy...
Let's hope there are good results from being early at their store.
Im just got a invitate code for the Genius Greedy Mouse today. Now there is the " proff of bank" issue I'm need to been sovled right now.
Tab2 is a nice little tablet and the game run surprice very well on it :-).
Also I'm have implemented Samsung drm today, which is similar to google license service. But I can test if it works or not, because I'm can't find my imei number (drm failed test, so it's should works).
finally which took some time, im are now commercial status. So Im have just submitted Greedy Mouse v1.3.2 using the invitate code today. Now Im hope im did implemented Samsung DRM correctly.
Also you do NOT need to submit 18 apks for each resolution group, so Samsung did have fixed that. Instead you can mark which resolutions you want to support and then upload a APK. Here Im have removed resoulutions under 320x480, because im was not sure how its look on those resolutions. Here i would better perfer eventuelly upload a another APK for those resolution.
Screenshots also need to been 800x480, but its very strange they cant calucate the screenshots was set to Landscape or in Portrait mode, which you need to set manually. They checking about that allready, so its strange its not autochange to portrait/landscape.
Was the DRM too hard to add? I´m still hoping to finish the game this month early next one. Worst case it already works on phone on 1280x720...maybe I could submit a samsung phone only app to start with.
Their page seems to be doing indie news like the so many others available. So far a good job though they didn´t list GLB as an easy start up on DEV
They seem to be doing some interviews (and of course it helps to propaganda) on many indie games available there, and as far as I see they don´t quite sport many quality titles.
Greedy mouse is sure going to benefit from it on my perspective, specially on the unique visuals. Try do an interview with them! :good:
Im not sure its works as its should, because my tab2 did not shown IMEM number for some reason (not sure why), so its got disallowed (as excepted throught), so its should works due that. Its was really not harder than the Google License DRM service and was pretty very similar to the Google License Service, so only changes to the java file was required.
First at all my priority is get the game on that market first! This can been the first Glbasic game to been released there?
Also just like Apple, they will checkout the game in the approvement process, something that is missing on Google Play, which is simply a bit too much automatic (if you ask me).
its seen device testing take some time. I have uploade the APK for 74 of Samsungs Devices, and im not sure they need to test on them all. There was nothing issue with the content approvements, its just "stuck" under Device Test status, which is still are in progress.
Howover if its got passed, then im pretty sure its a solid Android version in v1.3.2 of GreedyMouse Im have created. Soon after that, im will upload the fixed version to Google Play as well (so Multitastning perform much better, all crashes was seen to been due the back button).
The game approvement have just changed to "ready to sale".
Now I'm hope the drm works correctly, but is happy it's got passed the test!
So it's matter of time it's got into their AppStore. I'm link in greedy mouse annonce thread when done.
I really hope! Android lacks good games...what a bad scene!
Lets fix it up. Mine is still a while to come up and propably will be res fixex :(
jubiii :-D:
http://apps.samsung.com/earth/topApps/topAppsDetail.as?productId=000000567998
Thinks its the first glbasic game using the Indie program. Price is set a bit higher, howover Im did adjusted Google Play, so prices is around the same.
Yumi from 100% indie want too add more games from you. Do some of you want to add games to them. Samsung uses own drm, but its pretty easy to been added using the java communication. im will eventuelly share the java file (which uses beta 11.3).
That is great spacefractal, thanks.
My game is yet to be finished though :( I´m not sure they will hold the 100% by the time it gets done.
Was the samsung store a good one at the end? saleswise?
im have not checked, the bad thing is im have also not have time to marking ting. Those time, im thinks its better to go the Freemium model, which im hope can been done in the future with the game. Then im hope much more downloads (both those that paid or not).
I signed up for this awhile back, but from what I could tell, they wanted me to send in an APK for every game individually for pre-approval in the 100%. Then you need to get some voucher code for each game to enable it.
