Title: Compiler in Windows 8
Post by: benallgor on 2012-Aug-02
When I compile the Hello World example in Win 8 preview (on an x86 tablet), and run it from Compile/Start, I get a blank white screen.  I have never seen this on Win 7.  Is there a way to fix this or must I compile on Win 7?

Is this an official Windows 8 tablet or one that just happens to have Windows 8 on it ?

No one here has run GLBasic on a tablet, so I don't think anyone can really help.  It could be almost anything...

However GLBasic does work fine with the desktop version of Windows 8

Sounds like opengl driver issue.

Possibly it uses the mobile version...

This is an Acer W500 that originally had Win 7.   It helps to know it works on a desktop with Win 8.  My laptops are Win 7 and XP.

I don't know much about opengl, does glbasic use it?

I do have the latest AMD display drivers for Win 8.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I fixed this.  I re-installed Windows 8.  It was the latest Consumer Preview edition.  I don't know if that made any difference.  I think I had messed it up somehow.  I did not re-install the AMD beta video  drivers for windows 12.  Anyway evrything works so far.
