Hi today I read about the Android 4 Emulator, I try it, but it´s very Slow... but a very interesting thing it´s, about the capability to manage OpenGlES 2.0, I´m not sure if it´s easy configure a card Nvida, but I read uses another OpenGLES 2.0 for running in windows...
How I told my game runs very Slow, but have a lot of things, perhaps whit 2D runs well or a decent manner, becuase the Screen slice Scroll and when you picks over the O.S Buttons it´s very faster, not like in 2.1...
The standard Android emulator is very slow, although it does emulate all Android OS's up to the latest one. That's what comes of writing something in Java :)
If you want an emulator to run at a decent speed, Bluestacks is good - however, the application does need to be signed...
I've got a couple of video's of various Bluestacks video's running :
Thank MrTatoad, I don´t know about this...
I think the best way it´s under virtual Box, I look in youtube and runs very quickly, but I don´t know how make Android have an IP... I supposse whit 2.1 works fine ... I wacthed in Youtube, but whit 4.3 I can´t make the Emulator have an Ip Adress..., I look how whit Eclipse you send the file, and I think whit GLbasic can´t be too much different...
4.x is very "different" to 2.2 - I haven't worked out how to GLBasic to upload an APK with that, so, when I do (rarely) use the emulator, I stick with 2.2
Yes Mrtatoad, I upload in virtual Box a simple "Hello World" whit Android 4, and don´t works, all time give errors...
GLBasic should work fine on 4.x - it;s possible the VirtualBox version is a bit dodgy!
I never managed to get Android working in VirtualBox...
uhmmm for me don´t runs nothing perhpas something extrange whit resolutions...
But the speed it´s brutal, nothing to see whit emulator under windows... when open close, changes of desktops, it´s more quick than my real Android...
I try whit 2.2 but I have a truble, when Glbasic try to intall, the Compiler comes into a bucle and freeze Glbasic, you have to reestar Glbasic, but I don´t make succesfully the installation in 2.2
It´s very easy, put into the Virtual Box and Emulator, only have to make a DHCP IP in the internal network of Virtual Box.
It would probably be easier and more efficient to use Bluestacks or the official emulator rather than fiddle around with VirtualBox - it just doesn't seem to work well with Android.
Ok, MrTatoad, yes I try it... but i have errors making the example in the help of GLbasic, always have a trouble whit the XXXX.exe(I don´t rebenber the .exe name), somthing like this not it´s a 32 win valid file.. and I try to reinstall the JDK in 32 and 64 bits version whitout succes... I have to look whit more calm...
Thanks foru your councils...
No problem!
