Gernot, you might want to have a look at this - http://www.playstation.com/pss/developer/index_e.html
Nice!
It would be amazing if GLBasic would support it!!
Is it C# based? Or are other languages allowed?
I read a forum post on there from MonoGame, they are trying to get their engine to support the Vita.
http://monogame.codeplex.com/ (http://monogame.codeplex.com/)
I don't know the differences between GLBasic and MonoGame, so don't know how easy this would be.
Oh, I think I read it DOESN'T support OpenGL ES 1.1, only 2.0.
The MonoGame developer had to upgrade his SDK to support 2.0 for this reason.
I really want to buy a Vita, but just need a push, or a good reason, this would be it! ha
smells like Java from what I read in the forums.
I would be surprised if it is... The problem is the PS Vita is rather expensive. However, it is supposed to be selling well...
They dropped price here to 200 IIRC.
What the  NICE!

PSVita sales in Japan last week are pretty poor -

It's still early days though, but Sony needs to get developers on-board to increase the number of available games for the system.
It says here: http://www.playstation.com/pss/developer/2012GDC-PSSuiteOverview.pdf
C# as the primary programming language
Program will sit on top of a virtual machine which is supported by PS Certified Android devices and PS Vita
Ah, thats a shame!
Downloading.... :P
$99 a year(again). I would imagine it use Mono underneath for the C#, below that C APIs.
I will be observing from a distance if Gernot manages to find a way to get this working. I've worked with Sony in the past, an experience I won't repeat without caution.

Like Apple....
All company's wants a piece of cake of indie/home/little studio developers XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
PS (I want a SDK for Nintendo 3DS).... :P
Hope it ends in something usable.
It seems interesting if all goes well.
Don't think anything has been started yet :)
C++ is not allowered due security as I read, so its can been really hard for support with GlBasic.
For me its a clean area platform with using C# could been sold as own separate packages if its GlBasic ever ported to C#. Eventuelly a c++ to C# wrapper (if such of that exists, which would been very excellent).
So its seen more more company is on the C# vagon and in some future its cannot been avoid.
Perhaps can be a good new platform, but I listen a interview in a Poscast in Spain, about people who works in Dinamic in 80´s, and speak about working for PStation , and they told about Sony, it´s abosuletely nefast the help for indie Developers, if you don´t have a bucket whit a pair of millions of dolars, seems we are a very very big sh... for them...
Can be very interesting, but perhaps after the market want a lot of quality and a lot of applications come back to her creator...
I think it´s better another platforms like bada and this kinds of mobiles, don´t have a lot of numbers of mobile solds, but I think it´s something like Palm Pre...
