Hi,
some family member wants a tablet (10") for mobile web surfing and a "game for cats". That's it. So, I think 500,- for an iPad is way too much. What's the cheapest Android device with the size of an iPad you can "reccomend"? I think capacitive screen is a must.
You can get an Archos 8GB tablet for around £65 (77.76 Euro), which should have a decent performance. Dont know what screen type is has though.
If you want to pay more, Samsung tablets might be worth looking at
This one looks great for the price...

...but it's a special offer so you would need to buy right now.
archos 7 (8GB) seems to only 8 x 4.2 x 0.5 inches. A bit small. They want a big one for the cats to play :noggin:
The other one is a pre-order. They want it the day before yesterday... :/
There sending them out next Monday. ;)
A cheap 10"? Jeez. A Nook Color is 8" for 128 euros and it can be triple booted with Cyanogen Mod to run

Blimey.
The device app store is SlideMe rather than the standard Android market. That's not so good IMO (unless all us GLB devs sign up ;) ). Nevertheless from what I Googled it will run Cyanogen 7 with a little effort. That's very good IMO. Mali-400 GPU as well.
I have a Coby tablet, and it is also a good price/power one. Check their website. And they have an active MOD comunity (in mine I have ICS installed!)
