You can make a user account and place you're stuff on the site! =D
Yes, must start some time...
PCFreak, that's cool although I think a wiki has been started before. Anyhow, I look forward to seeing some of your code...right?!?

I downloaded it yesterday, and i need to learn it first.
I'll gonna look the tutorial vid soon. :P
The wiki started already is gone...
It needs to be this: http://wiki.just-do-i-t.com/index.php?title=GLBasic_Wiki (http://wiki.just-do-i-t.com/index.php?title=GLBasic_Wiki)
Its standing on the Wikipedia page, but I'll gonna change it soon.

Then I suggest starting a wiki is not a good idea because no-one will update it.

Indeed, a Wiki run by one of the old timers around here would stand a much higher chance of at least some success.
cheers

If SOMEONE of you're will register, and tell to others, it will be easyer to get more people on it! :rtfm:
I've signed up - when I have time, I'll start adding stuff...

My apologies about the negativity as I was just going by history.
MrTAToad has formally documented GLB, so naturally he can submit some useful stuff but I don't understand why PCFreak feels he needs to.

Still doesn't explain why GLBasic in particular.

I have downloaded GLBasic, (I wanted to learn OpenGL) so I made the wiki for other users.
Never mind them, they are just sad that the previous attempts all were forgotten :-)
And disappeared without warning too :(
I like the idea of a wiki but I think I'd like it better if it were a part of the official glbasic.com site.

In that case, you won't learn more with a wiki as the forum is the first source. If you were serious, you'd be posting code/examples of what you have done with OpenGL.
And now, just like the others, this new wiki page is gone!
I see no value on a wiki too.
Forum is the best choice, but you have others...I run a multi monitor thing, to while my main glbasic things go on in one, I have helpfile open on the other, I also have Tatoad´s book too all around.
Should things get messy, I get back to the forum, it is where I get the most mix of multiple helps anyways, lots to learn from people around here. :good:
Personally I would say improve the forum search so it isn't a massive waste of space, plus use a wiki for commands (that then can link to whole projects to download if you want) that can be launched directly (and updated) from within the IDE when on a command (eg. shift+F1 instead of the usual F1 for existing help which is also next to useless for searching). That way you can expand on existing help plus add help to expanded commands (ie. functions from well known plugins). Put some method of control into it (only registered users who have X posts perhaps) and you are laughing.
A wiki that doesn't link to the IDE or really to any fixed forum post will just die. Sad but, we all know, true.
Cheers
Something like the PHP online manual would be good, where the main description of a command
is there for all to see but can't be edited, but members can add their own comments and examples.
