Have you scrolled down? It is a SOPA/PIPA thing...
Yeah, so far I've hit Wiki and SMBC. Annoying but making a good point :(
Cheers
With wikipedia at least all they've done is add a css overlay to the screen, so I think if you're keen to see the content the view the source, or use a toolbar to remove the class. Heh heh.
Yeah or just stop it loading before it blacks everything out.
Annoying though that they have blanked out the English Wiki so you can complain to your "local" government official. Considering in the UK it doesn't count then a bit daft we are blanked too.
Cheers

And it's just the front page - the forum is still there. ;)

Don't know why but I really hate those "new" forums there... It's worse than reading caps posts for some unknown reason to me...

I agree. I don't really like that new forum software either. :(
Yeah when it first came along the general response was "tough". I never posted much but hung around a lot. I think I haven't looked at it in about 6 months and it's really only because of the new forum software...
Although I thought it went downhill once they got rid of that cool interactive tree chart thingy on the main site a few years ago. You know where you could find out the state of all registered remakes? Well cool.
Cheers
There are numerous reasons for the changes at RR, which I won't go into here, but the biggest reason was the hacking incident a couple of years back. That really cost RR dearly. :(
The whole Remakes scene has changed considerably and if I'm honest, RR doesn't really discuss much about remakes or even retro games nowadays, due to the fact that fewer people are either -
1) not making them
2) not discussing them
3) not promoting them at RR.
All of which is probably true.
Yeah I remember reading some stuff at the time.
Fair enough remakes might be down (don't know why considering recession so free games more attractive plus easier to code for less powerful devices which are almost setup for retro games it seems) but if I'm anything to go by when it comes to the actual site the forum just repels me to an extent where I can't be bothered checking it out anymore. I'm sure I'm not alone judging by the amount of emails when the forum went in. Just a bit of redesign to look more like a standard forum (this one will do) would be brilliant I'm sure.
Also get it to work in Tapatalk. GLB works brilliantly on an iPhone using this app, but RR shows on the list but fails to work.
Cheers
Yeah, the forum isn't a looker to be sure, but the old software became a massively huge thorn in the side for Bob :(
I doubt you are alone in your thoughts on the look and feel of the forum. As for retro-remakes, there are far fewer and many noobs would rather just play the old games on emulation devices nowadays. When RR first started emulation wasn't easy to access - now it's available everywhere from dedicated consoles/handhelds to mobile phones.
