How would you organise an Xmas LAN party if the following conditions applied:-
- There will be 2 to 6 players at any one time
- Hardware ranges from (reasonably fast) netbooks to high powered desktops.
- Command and Conquer games, Warcraft 3 and Defense of the Ancients were played last Xmas. Something new would be preferred (if possible)
What games would you pick? Anything to keep in mind? Have you done something like this before, and is so, what happened?
I'm thinking...Minecraft might be good?
Doom, Quake, a Bomberman clone?
minecraft is good but time consuming, you may want something faster.
does it need to be for the whole family kind of thing?
There was one Christmas me and my brother spent playing SPELUNKY for a good loooong while.
Even as a 1 player game at a time, things are always new and a game rarely takes long, lots of laugh though...
It is also the kind of game people watch with attention and gives lot of opinions.
What kind of games are you looking/prefer?
We have been playing CALL OF DUTY 2 for years! :)
It won't be for the whole family, just the under 40s. Three boys, three girls. The girls didn't like FPS games last year. I forgot to mention that war, horror or sci-fi action FPS games are probably a no-go. :( I know, I know.
Driving games, Real-time strategy games, anything funny, puzzle/casual competition, platform 2D/3D are all go.
SPELUNKY looks like fun. Multiplayer bomberman (which exists, for free) would work too.
3 boys and 3 girls? I can imagine better games to play than computer games :P :-*
I agree hehe, tabletop games must be what you are thinking! :P :good:
Summer/Winter/California Games?
Worms is always fun too!
- Terraria
- Soldat ( www.soldat.pl )
- CoD2
- Any sort of Wiigames... Mario Party is Fun
