Title: Android, worth developing for now?
Post by: bigsofty on 2011-Nov-01
When I last looked into Android it was, even then, a popular OS but developing for it was not commercially viable. Has this changed? What are you experiences with recent Android ports? Is it worth while developing for now?

^ This is not me, this is another user's experience.

In no way am I trying to advertise a competitors product, but this information may be useful to those wondering if this is possible on android.  If this goes against the forum rules, mod's just delete this thread. Thanks.

I had asked this before in another thread, but will try and ask it again here. Is it possible to add support for ad services such as airpush, admob, leadbolt through the creation of libraries or does the developer of glbasic have to add it himself?

Well maybe not "effort" but expense, as I am considering buying an Android tablet for GLB projects?

Edit: that's a nice thread, even for potential GLB apps as it gives some good tips. GLB has full access to most of its supported platforms APIs via C inlinning, so although I am not familiar with those libraries, I am sure they could be added by a user.
