Title: Hi, good news for iPad on 3D
Post by: mentalthink on 2011-Mar-15
HI today I test 3D on my Ipad, at full resolution, and works very well.  (The last iOS 4.3)

I make a test whit 7 cubes and runs at 60 FPS, equal than PC, well, when I apply the texture to 7 cubes (1024x1024 .PNG) the speed go down a little, but I think if too much great the texture, and too much repeats.

Well I think Glbasic Rocks again!!! now on iPad

PS: I used 1024x768   (The Xcode has changed a lot of, but I think, is more easy to use now)

Very good news indeed. I think a lot of it has to do with Apple enabling the iPad to use Multitasking. One thing I would like to point out is that the iPad 2 is probably even faster with it's dual core approach. As soon as I have the cash I will be buying one but not until I have a game concept I want to put on it. I kinda have one but I'll see where the development goes with that.
