I don't think I want a phone. A tablet w/o 3G would be fine to me.

Get one that supports a 3G dongle like a M701
Cheers
GLBasic does not communicate with the phone. For the 3G data I'm very sure that it works the same as on iPad, Windows and Linux and Mac. It's all the same code. Berklay sockets are pretty portable when you know the tiny platform differences.

This one?

Not an Android buff (yet!) but this one looks quite good and cheap... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10-2-EPAD-ANDROID-2-1-WIFI-GPS-MID-TABLET-PC-FLYTOUCH-/170594986348?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27b840e96c

its a nice device ampos ,whats the price ? have it multitouch ?
What about a 1.6 device - can I upgrade it?
Most of the cheap 2.1 devices do not have the Android Market installed. Why is that?

Not sure exactly why, but in some cases, phones that come from certain foreign countries dont have the Market app installed, then I've heard that only 'approved' phones come with Market... If it were me, I'd just make sure the phone I bought had it on, because I've just looked and in some cases its a nightmare to get it installed.
Dabz
OK, I got a 2.2 7" tablet now that ships within a day.
It has Android Market installed, so it should be fine. The problem seems that most devices for $70 are without the market and that means they are pretty much locked out.

BTW: I ordered 2, so I think the easter compo is safe.
If you would consider an phone, you might get an adp3 (android dev phone).
You can flash the devphones with different versions of OSes (probably also non Android OSes).

When does the Easter comp start Gernot? There's less than two months to go now...
Does your post mean that one of those pads is a prize for the comp? =D

Sorry. My mistake.
I thought that all of the Android Dev-Phones was flashable as the first one was.
If not, it's a bad deal.

But they should be capable of gazong, ziiiing and kaboom.
It's old age mate. Gets harder for us all to gazong, ziiiing and kaboom. Has to catch up with you eventually, like it has the rest of us. =D
