Title: Language conversion
Post by: MrTAToad on 2011-Feb-09
I've now check my language text file and was wondering whether anyone would be nice enough to convert it to one or more of the following languages (grammatically and syntactically correct of course) :

I'm hoping to be able to convert it to Welsh, Cornish, Irish Gaelic and Scottish Gaelic too.

There will be an instruction file to do, but I need to modify that a bit first.

If you want to modify the LanguageID line to the appropriate 2 character language code, and LanguageAuthor to your name/handle if you like, or I can do that myself.

I'm not using Babelfish as it doesn't always get things right :)

Its the right side of each = that needs changing

Update

I've now included the instruction file, which also needs converting

this will be not that easy as we don't know the context in which the messages are shown. In some case different meanings are possible to translate.

As you can guess, this is for my Spots game, and consists of text for error messages (if there is a loading problem), menu options and the win/lose text

I might be able to do an Irish translation for you, my Irish is rusty
but my Uncle is fluent, I'll see if he can help.

This is what the language selection window looks like in Italian

Unfortunately, I found a bug in my code which means this window keeps popping up :)

Very nice! You should change "Finito" with "Fatto", now I come to think of it, it's a more correct way to say "Done"  ;)

I can help with portuguese (brazil).
Some words we use the english one, but I will try a full convertion,

If I got it right I'm supposed to convert the second part, like:
option=opção

is that it? and translate the instruction too.

may take a while, really busy these days, should calm down next week...

Thanks for that - will need to get an appropriate font (or two) and try and detect unicode in UTF-8 files :)
