Is the following list of music formats correct for each platform :
Windows - MP3 only*
Mac - OGG only*
Linux - MP3 or OGG
GP2X - OGG only
WIZ - OGG only
Windows CE - MP3
iPhone : OGG Only
Pandora : OGG only
XBox : OGG only
*Unless additional codecs are installed
Wiz and GP2X do play .MP3s, but poorly. Preformance varies depending on application.
Windows .OGG play varies by machine (and installed codecs, probably). My old desktop and laptop (IIRC) could play .OGG, but my current laptop can't. I've read similar things on these boards.
Not tried sound on other systems.
Yes, my Windows 7 machine can play OGG files in Media Player, but not using PLAYMUSIC
ob iPhone aif, and caf files working too

Yes, I meant via GLBasic, as otherwise .OGG plays fine. Tis an odd'un.
I have also had problems with PLAYMUSIC (working on some windows installations, but not others).
For now i am using Hekkus Sound System for audiohandling ( great cross platfom compatibility ).
A good advice in commercial apps is to use OGG and not MP3 as MP3 licensing is a problem :puke:
btw. Hekkus also supports .xm and .mod =D
Hey Ketil,
How difficult was it to get Hekkus working with GLB?
Cheers,
Ian
I have had problems with MP3s playing on windows vista if its a clean install, just a total shut down of the program when it tries to play. Also had similar on XP

Not as easy as i thought.
It was a bit of work, but nothing difficult.
If i get permission from my company, i don't mind sharing the wrapper.
That would be great, if it's still donate-ware, I could try and rustle up the funds if that would help. It would be nice to mess around with sound a bit more in GLB! ;)
Cheers,
Ian
mp3 works on iphone :) very good
