Any chance of having GLBasic as a DLL SDK (not the core commands but the 2d, 3d, network etc) so we can use it in another language such as Purebasic?
Why would I be interested in that?
And why would you want PureBasic?
As Ocean said, some people prefer the libraries over the language ... its just the same as BlitzBasic where Blitz SDK was released for those who wanted to use their own programming language. Since Blitz SDK is Directx and I am interested in Opengl, this is why I asked ... I would be willing to pay for it.
In addition it would be useful in Blitzmax too which currently doesn't have an official 3d engine yet.
Minib3d ?
thats not so bad for BMax...
I agree with Schranz0r, MiniB3D works well enough for most uses. Another one you may want to look at is Irrlicht which has OpenGL support as well as DirectX -- although I've had better results with the OpenGL side of that one which is why I mention it.
Creating an SDK version of GLBasic would create yet more work for Gernot, for what is likely to be little gain. I think GLBasic keeps him busy enough with all our demands as it is. :) You could always get GLBasic and give it a try. It never hurts to have more than one tool in your toolbox -- even when you end up with a whole bunch you never use (yes, I'm looking at you DarkBASIC Pro and add-ons, Blitz3D and SDK). I often use PureBASIC for quick tool development, C for library creation, but pretty much GLBasic exclusively for games. BlitzMax has some nice points (I used to use it myself), but I find that the updates are too few and far between and that Blitz Research (Mark in particular) tends to pretty much ignore any requests made by the people who own copies of their products. Gernot on the other is very responsive and extremely open to suggestions for improvement to the GLBasic package (turning it into a DLL is not necessarily an improvement ;)).
