The successor to OpenGL, Vulkan, has been officially relased. Now let's see GLBasic fly further, faster and higher. Well, we always hope!

Will be awesome have a good 3D engine into GLbasic , but I think for Vulkan will be the standar we have to wait a couple of years at least...

The people says is the dead of DirectX, really?¿ I think M$ have a lot of money for do something similar or better...

There exists also Metal, which came to market for one or two years ago, which is better than OpenGL. But im do thinks as long OpenGL is officially supported, im dont thinks its required to support Metal as well Vulkan. But its property take comply of years before we see it practical in games.

glbasic does have nice 3d, but im thinks iwa was intended to been highend for home coders like us. But some games do stil show nice 3d with it (like Reggie World).

As I know OpenGL should still be valid and supported as a existing API for a long while, if OpenGL cease to work, there'll be a proxy library like GL translator DLL or something made by community, we don't have to worry.

However, GLB need to add some new abilities like OOP and UTF-8 etc to catch up the current standards.
