Title: Bye Bye Opengl Wilkommen Vulkan!!!

Really I'm not sure if OpenGl will disappears, obviously I think a couple of year for a transition can be a reality, but Khronos today announces this, I think in a few weeks we can learn another API and a lot of new books in the libraries  :enc: :enc: .

If I'm not wrong I think this it's the new "technology" for fight with the Apple shows in his Conference, somehing for 3D graphics but a lot of more quicker than OpenGL.

Like most things IT, it will take a long time before it comes a standard.  It will also only do so if it is easy to use and understand, which OpenGL isn't really (mainly because the documentation isn't as good as it should be).  DirectX is better in that regard (which makes using somewhat easier).

If it is powerful, fast, and easy to use Vulkan should go far, especially if graphic drivers become simpler and less error prone.

When I clicked in I was expecting a Leonard Nemoy (Mr. Spock) tribute...

Anyhow - we will miss dear old Mr Spock!
