algo music anyone?

Remember algo music on the amiga? that was really nice and still is for those that can still run it.
I think I should share this one I found few years ago...

that tool generates ramdon music, it's a genius piece of software, free. You have a lot of control over it.
Tunes come out really nice.
It will not substitute a real artist (like Richard Joseph) but it sure helps on the way to compose...

after you come up with something nice (and save it before further randomizing) you can export as mid or as some tracking format, I usually dump it on mad tracker for further editing, recomposing or instrument change etc etc but I guess any tracker will do. Had lots of fun with it, different from algomusic, where it was eletronic music only, this one can rock different styles. It is the best algorithm music creator I have seen so far.

Yes, it is a midi generator.
It creates music and sounds really good, with a very sweet set of harmonically perfect styles.
This is definetly a valuable tool.

It has rule sets which are based on music theory, and style/genres.
That IMO is what makes it so great.
Truely, it creates unique compositions.

If you use a midi composer you can edit it easily.
You can do stuff like add machine gun sounds, to a small music sound track, to make an exciting twist to the sounds.
Or an enemy helicopter enters the scene with blades beating and unique music playing along with it.

Im impressed and it is definetly going into my computer permanently.

Love it.  Can make some pretty decent tunes suitable for your games.  I had a go and ended up with something that sounded like it would have been used in a SNES game.

Interesting. This is also for composers to get ideas for new melodies. The midi tracks are always a bit of a mess but there are parts here and there that sound like they could really become something catchy with a little human intervention.

Don't want to kill the buzz about this but if you read the comments it sounds like the author is not going to let anyone use this for commercial purposes.
