Im have not programmed so much (other than doing iOS and ANdroid stuff, but no new game, other than that game im gave away my source code for), but im have fun doing various C64 tunes recently.

Yes im have purchase this software for my iPad and have now done various songs with it. Its actuelly a fun tracker to work with. Is not cheap, but its a great software to create sid songs with and can even export to sid as well prg files (the last one can been used on a real C64). Here is various stuff im have created. Most songs is from two games, Jungool (A iOS game) and Manic Manier - The Lost Levels (A Nintendo DS homebrew game).

All songs is used 50hz timing, so those songs would been sound like a actuel C64 game. One of the tune is a 100% recreated from the Spectrum and sound close to it as possible to the original game (this because that level was also used with the original music in the DS game).

here is songs made with it (im might add songs here):

From Jungool:
1.1 - Welcome to Jungool
1.3 - Wagga Sweet Home
3.1 - Oasis of Waggabamba
3.2 - CockatooJalopy.sid]Cockatoo Jalopy
5.3 - The Savage Claws
7.2 - Iceblink Winds
7.3 - Melody Nocturnal
8.2 - Raven of Amazon
9.1 - The Thorny Gate

From Manic Miner - The Lost Levels (all in 50hz):
01 - The Titled Sir Willy
02 - A Dark Mining Night
03 - Willy Space Adventure
04 - The Pharaoh's Little Jig
05 - The Mighty Jungle Beat
07 - Reggie Likes Reggae
08 - Smith's Ear Bleeder
11 - A Life Underground
12 - The Demonic Whale
14 - The Oddness Of Being
15 - And Someone Mentioned 565, Yes!
19 - Being So Golden
32 - Coupe's Little Willy
34 - A Somber Moment
35 - Yes Boy! Big Numbers!
36 - The Last Walz

can those songs be played on an outside player?

spacefractal

As long they support sid files, yes. On windows im using Sidplayer 2.6 or xmplay with a sid plugin.

Some songs is convertered to MP3, but not all.

Sid format is a common format with c64 Sid songs, and the sidetracker 64 export to that as well prg format for uses for a real c64.

Tomorrow I'm link to those players.

All songs is in the 7z file as well, include updates.

Nice, I use Foobar2000 as my main music player, I just got a SID decoder by kode54 and it seems to work fine.
I will check your music soon. :good:

Make sure the player support the newer MOS 8580 model (but the plugin should choice this one automatic, since sid file do support which sidchip its should use). There is still a few issues left with the 6581 in few tunes (all is due filter control is different on those models its seens).

the ReSid plugin uses should works fine. Hopefully its can playback samples correctly (by using a bug in the sidchip), which some tunes uses (but none of the tune im created do use it at all).

http://csdb.dk/release/?id=103781 is the sidplayer im currectly uses.

hehe. Im also have been som inaktiviety about programmering, but sometimes im also want to do something different than just programmering.

Also im have newer player the original Manic Miner game very much (either Spectrum or C64 version). Howover its was VERY fun to doing Manic Miner - The Lost Levels (the music part of that game). Im still thinks its the best game im did music for my eailer days and was fun to beta test it as well.

PS. SidTracker 64 eat very much Battery of my iPads, hehe.

Lovely. I'm a great fan of sid tunes. I've downloaded them and will listen when I'm on the road next time.

Just to sad that app do ate very much battery, but its a fun app to create music with. Property im should also use renoise rather than flstudio, due im have used trackers quite much (and im like trackers).

Im do see other trackers using over sound chip, like that one in Spectrum. This is why im dont have plan to port it to Spectrum 128, which also could been fun.

Now that's a bit easier!  ;)

BTW SF can you recommend any good SidTracker tutorials? I never really got past the tinkering stage with the built in manual unfortunately.
Cheers,

Ian.

im have previous doing trackers before (a lots really), so SidTracker was pretty much in the same boat and for me was quite easy to adapt to this one.

There is various video tutorials as well on youtube. Example this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52LAv3bW3C8

In the start im did used various speed, but today im will only uses 50hz speed, so its can been used in a game (etc music sound as its could been uses in a game). But if you only want to do tunes, you can use 100hz or such.

The big different in SidTracker is you only using one channel per patterns, unlike normal trackers. This is property to save memory.
