Yes it's an old style and I like it too like this.

But all "old style tools" are dead nowadays : Playbasic, Darkbasic, Div and so on...That's a pitty.
Throwing GLBasic on steam was not enought to make it a success, on marketing level I mean.

Compatibility updates and bugs fixes should be great already.

Hi, for me I only need updates adding compatibility and with bugfixes. There are plenty examples here on forum with usefully code examples, so everything for a 2d is here, also simpler 3d can be done. I know that other tools have tons of built in stuff, but GLB is rather a old-style language for games, not RAD tool, and I like this.
And for lack of activity on forum, few people were working on their projects, but as we can say 'Life happens', so something may be delayed or on hold... My current project mix of puzzle and arcade game needs some work before going public, but hopefully I would be able to finish everything in couple months.

No motivation perhaps because of no activity in this forum or in the produc's update.

This Forum has been quiet for over 6 months, I doubt Kitty Hello is working on improvements. I would love to see an update.

Just out of interest is anyone using GLbasic on a weekly basis? I've not had the time or motivation since new year.

Hi there,

That has been a while. I know that GLBasic is now on Steam but since, it doesn't seem to evolve. Is there any new version on the go ?

Thank you in advance :)

See ya !

I'm so sorry for the loss of Mark Sibly. Back in the early 2000s Blitz and GLBasic had some race for the best(c)(tm) BASIC, but when I came from the C64 to the Amiga, I quickly started programming in Blitz BASIC and Mark was a true genius. Way, way smarter than me. A fully featured IDE with a BASIC compiler, that performed really well on an early 16 bit machine. Outstanding.
I never had a real conversation with him. Maybe I should have mailed him once. I'm sorry I didn't.
Maybe that should remind me to start caring about people, who still live while they are. Let's hope he found peace.

Indeed sad news, Blitz tools were quite popular in their prime time, and had strong fanbase on Amiga.

All The Best for the New Year!

Yes and it's all the more sad that he had started a new update of Blitz 3D, proof that his head was fine, it's the body that didn't follow :(
You're right he was a genius, besides I think that Gernot was inspired by his work for GLBasic because there are similarities. Talent meets talent.

sad news, I've never used his Blitz Basic but I've always admired his genius. :(
