Yes, the punbb was quite limited and very hard to upgrade. This one was suggested by STompy, and it looks quite promising.

Simple machines are a nice forum, just have to find/make a unique theme for you :-)

I know it's a nice forum, but I visit many sites that all use the same style and themes - hence, identikit.

I do like all the extra features (PM for one), but when every site you visit looks the same, you kinda forget where you are and everything loses its identity.

Any way of filtering away the german forums when I look at "Show unread posts since last visit"? It's so hard to see the difference on a quick glance now, big risk that I miss posts in the english forums...
