Screen capture?

Hi,

I'm trying to capture my GLBasic game with a screen capture software. Since it uses GL it seems normal capture software won't work. I've found Fraps, but that only takes a few seconds of video, and I can't really figure out the other software I've found. So I'd like to present my game to the internet, but how? Do you know of any screen capture software that can do this? (I know this isn't exactly GLBasic related, but I presume some of you have made videos of your games, so I figure I could ask.)

savebmp "capture.png" for a screen capture.

Fraps can capture "video" of the running game, and it captures TONS of minutes, not just seconds. Also Fraps is the one with less lag.

Hmm. This particular version I've got is a trial version, which only records 30 seconds. Tells me I should pay for the full thing.

ampos

Yes, it is the best one. Not very poished, but records video without lag.

Just use the trial and see if it works for you.

No it doesn't. There is always lag, but as ampos stated it's definitely one of the better software video-capture solutions. If you plan to record lots of software in the future, then FRAPS really is a worthy investment.

There are freeware alternatives available that are OK-ish.

Alright, thanks for the comments. I think I'll go with glc on linux though.

There's a freeware program... uhm.. camstudio? that could record opengl.

Been trying to capture game footage,
but I can't get Fraps to work, I run the program, press F11 and my game just freezes up for a few seconds,
then carries on.
When I check in the video capture folder, there's nothing in there.

Are you sure that F11 is the capture key? My FRAPS has F9 as the capture key; F11 is the "Benchmarking Hotkey"

Ive had a few problems in the past capturing video footage with various capture programs. Full screen doesn`t work, so I started grabbing footage in windowed mode.

Quangdx's game is running in Windowed mode (if it's the firework game).

You can use VitrualDub (which is free) on FRAPS movies to bring the filesize down dramatically, without any obvious loss of quality.
