i read somewhee that iphone uses openal and supports 3d sound.

is there a way to use it? or comple openal as a library for glbasic?

You could prepare the sound before to sound 3d, but probably have a few versions of the same sound to simulate major positions from camera. it can work if whatever you are doing has not many sounds and you don't wanna change it while playing.

I also guess you would have to be using ear phones to catch any effects on this or enything spacial coming from a small device.

Does anyone have the specs for that format?

I will see if I can get it soon,
things still in a hurry here ...

yep, I started with trs80 color basic long time ago, evolved to amos on amiga, where I just got insanely happy with the possibilities of mutimidia on basic, did a lot of games, some got into cover disks and so on, then pc...

... it has been about 8 years I have been researching languages to do the same, lots got close, but glbasic just hit the spot for me.

For the little time I have been on this (excellent) community, I can recommend mrTAToad's books to help out the learning stage. Other then that, start something up and share your problems with us if you ever get to any.

welcome.

A better way would be to buy a iPhone a MAC mini and GLBasic Premium.  ;)
If you really want to develope for the iPhone you must have a test device (or more) to debug your games!

That's the only solution I came so far, but buying an use mac here in brazil means paying for a new one outside brazil, even on ebay it will tax me 100% over the price...

A friend of mine has an intel mac mini with broken DVD, I 'm going to borrow that, just have to install system from a pen drive(is that possible on mac?)

I will fork out for the cheapest i-pad, 16gb no 3g, and that will cost around 900 dollars... :puke:

I hope whathever I do sells at least to cover this.

thanks for the info Stormwire...
I'm about to buy an ipad and still solving the 'buying a mac' problem as I have absolutely no use for it other then compiling apps...

I read through it but it seems too much a hassle to get thinks working. It only seems as I haven't tried, I will borrow a friends mini mac for some time and run things with it, see if I can make some profit out of the apple store before I fork my own...

thanks a lot for the info, that was a good read

I wish there was a lightwave->glbasic object converter, but currently I can export obj into blender and try that way. lightwave objects are easy to read, they are text files, would that be difficult to read?
