Yep. it does on mine now too, however when I first installed the update it would not. I had to manually copy the files from c:\Program Files\GLBasic\Samples to My documents folder where my projects are stored. (normally this is done automatically I think). Then it worked. Anyway thanks greatly for all your hard work

Hi again,
Probably not explaining the error correctly. I think that it is in the
//caption
section where there are two DrawRect commands. If I comment out the first of these the error remains so for some reason the command is not picking up the correct width / height. If I comment out the second and leave the first the caption bar is invisible (black?). I note that in the earlier version (see below) the first rectangle is white.
I reinstalled version 4.279 and ddgui works fine. In the ddgui file with that version the line number is 407-414 and there are two FillRect commands.
Could this be somehow related to the DrawSprite errors that others have reported.
Hope that this may help you track down the problem - Not trying to be a pest .
Thanks again

Hi,
The lines are correct in both places so I don't know what going on. It is only the light grey background to the title bar that is changing. In its initial position it is correct but as I drag in x it extends that way. If i drag the dialog in Y it gets bigger behind the rest of the dialog. I don't recall this happening before. It is only a small bug and would only affect moveable dialogs. I will see if I can spot what's going on. Thanks

HI,
I found the error. It was in my method. The scaling of the object in blender has to be reset by going (in object mode)
Transform -> Clear/Apply-> Apply Scale Rotation
This reset the scale to 1 without changing the size and when exported and loaded into GLBasic program was the correct size. I don't remember reading that anywhere. (It also explained the exaggeration I was getting in the vertical)
Life is just one big learning experience eh?
Thanks Again

Hi Gernot,
fast response thanks. Update worked  (to 5.016) - that was the good news however the ddgui bug is still there. The grey area in the title bar grows in size as you drag the dialog in increasing x and in increasing y.
I did download the full SDK again and reinstalled it, then updated it and still the bug remained.
Thanks

Hi,
I am having troubles with files exported from Blender. They seem to export with a one unit maximum size. I created a plane in Blender, with size 20 units on each side, subdivided it and made a sort of terrain, exported it to .dda and loaded it into a GLBasic program. The size in the program is one unit each side and the z axis seems exaggerated about two to one. Because scaling interferes with collision functions I found that I must deal in small x,y values. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? Any troubles with .3ds files? I suppose I could go to that format.
Thanks for any assistance

Thanks for the update. It installed fine. I hate to mention this but when I tried the DDGui example the dialogs exhibited a strange behaviour. When dragging the dialog in X the title bar gets bigger in X and likewise in Y. This happened on both WinXP and Win2K in VMWare under Ubuntu..
Really like the fact that you have now included MacOS.
Thanks again

Thanks for the replies. I had updated to version 4.279 but when I checked the compiler/linux/lib directory I noted that there were several 0 byte size files. I fixed these and now seems OK. Maybe I won't have to reinstall windows after all.

On another note I saw Gernot's video of the physics game on youtube  -- very impressive

Thanls again

My win2k died ( well really I killed it) so I tried running GLBAsic in win2k under both VMWare and Virtualbox in Ubuntu but did not have any success. Windows programmes compiled and ran OK although a dialog appeared saying I should update my video driver to provide hardware OpenGL acceleration, but when i tried a linux compile I kept getting an error saying that lib.so.6 could not be found. iInote that this lib is a link to another file in the linux lib directory so maybe the links don't work in the virtual environment.
Anyway I will just have to reinstall windoze.........ah well.
Hope this info is of some use to someone.

Hi, do I have to do anything "special" to export models from blender? I have tried a few models but I think that I may have trouble with the scaling. Is there anyway to read the size (x,y,z) from the ddd file so that placement of the camera is in a suitable location?
Thanks
I will persevere.

Thanks !! Seems to be OK now. The executable also got smaller 600K down to 400K. The service you provide is excellent. Too bad some vendors of operating systems don't provide similar services.
Thanks once again
