Thanks Marmor!

Don't forget The Gutenberg Project. They offer a lot of free books, text and audio, including a lot of famous classics now in the public realm. (There are even some textbooks available.)

If you are a self-learner and are interested in studying college level classes for free, check this out:
ocw.mit.edu

That's right. MIT, the prestigious American University offers over two hundred college level courses for free. You won't earn college creits, but it is a great way to get a leg up on courses you plan to take in the future. Many of the courses can be taken without buying a text book, but for those that do, the older used text books used by the courses can be bought on line for a few dollars, rather than the hundreds of dollars they cost new.

My favorite courses are those which offer the lectures on video. For example:

HI CW thanks a lot, about the Books of marmor are most for the languaje... really I saty doing 5 courses in Universities like you put in the post... My Maths are very rubished and I have to learn whit a very very good teacher in Youtube, in Spanisnh first...

But this Courses are really interesting, in my country in any place except the University I think anyone can learn some material like that... the problem, our new politics, this guys want the richs kinds are studients, and the poor in the future for the works of shit... really if in the future in Spain the concept work it's pay for yout time... like goes the country I think this guys want we pay for work...  >:D

LOL Mentalthink.

In America, I think we have the same problem but with us it isn't some Government leader to blame, it is education as a for-profit industry. In a way, our educated workers are expected to 'pay' and pay a LOT to get a job. The education system is so expensive that young students here have to carry a lifetime of debt just to get their education; with no guarantee of any job when they finish and after they are buried in debt. The cost of a college education is getting so high it will often destroy the finances of the students, their parents, even their grandparents. The days where you could work your way through college on a minimum wage job is long gone.
