Title: PLAYSOUND delay on WebOS?
Post by: Ian Price on 2011-Feb-24
Hi Gernot

Just a quick mention that there appears to be a delay of about 1/2 second when playing a .WAV file on the Palm Pre.

B'lox! shows this problem quite clearly when a block stops moving (the collision sound should be instantaneous). I'm using a .Wav file with a frequency of 22050 16bit stereo IIRC. Could it just be a frequency problem?

I'll create a stand-alone program later with varying frequencies etc. to double check.

It´s the same with .ogg-files on my Palm Pre.

Thank you for checking different soundfiles!

My calculator app has this also quite terribly.
I'm working on it. I had that on a GP2X once, too. I'm sure I'll fix it.

OK, at least we know it is an issue with GLB/SDL and not wrong sound frequencies etc.
