sorry to hear that...better work on the android stuff in my opinion.

there will be other possibilities for compos this year I guess.

I have a few china gadgets my self, I kind of like a few of those,
but they sure need a looot more care then the real thing. So far I'm being lucky with my china camera for 3 years hehe.

I have also seen a lot of rubish ones, like gps, players etc.
The funniest part is going through the chinese - english (google translated) they have on the manuals.

anyway I'm sorry it turned out that way with the pads...

Nice Ian,

but one thing though, I might use it as a sketch board, like you said the new one works faster.
Do you thing it's possible to make sure an app runs on ipad1 while testing on ipad2?
Think it's possible to test for iphones on the ipad 2 too?

no sd card either, that is what pisses me off.

Either way I will probably buy the ipad1 (wifi 16gb). Will mostly use it to test ipad+iphone apps, I'm afraid I better go with this so to support legacy, maybe if I get the ipad2 it may be hard to test for ipad1, what do you think?

I'm not really found of apple devices, so I'm trying the minimum only for testing and deploying apps...

Just took a closer look,
it exports bmp, so it can be used, great, I like the tool already.
the 3 layers will be extra sprite sheets... you can code in how to use this tool, really great.had an eye on it for a while, it's now public released! =D

now that is great, multi-platforming your app is the key (least in my mind).
I'm designing my first game, struggling to come up with a scalable gfx set + code.
...and that is what you did, congrats! :)

don't forget to post it on the appropriate threads...we all would like to have a beek! =D

open gfx where levels can be made can be a "feature" for the more advanced user while you create a map editor or something like that, try the best to use what is available to your advantage!

Use to do it all the time on the amiga on games that was possible to do so.
I didn't quite bother if that was amateur, at the end of the day I was really happy to see the gfx sheets.
I consider that a FEATURE hehe

heck I even do it on MAME once in a while and I remember reassembling RENEGADES's grafics once...

Matchy, just posted a ZIP file containing:

cube object in lightwave format
cube object in obj format
bump texture
color texture

for some reason when I export the obj and re import it again to check the uvmap comes up f...ed up.
I will have to see to export it in a different way if its not working.

Is that what you need? let me know how the OBJ and is UV works out.

It took a while...

here goes a cube made of quads + bump map + color map (black and white though...).
textures are 1024x1024

...there is also OBJ+mtl file inside the zip too, but the UV on the obj does not work for me.

Let me know if you need extra stuff, took a while to build a new machine but it is all running and kicking now.
