Just an idea

I have an idea (the others: "Oh my god ! Snoopy has again an idea" :D)

Why not program an open source game all together that would be offered for free on Steam with GLB?
This game would mix 2D and 3D so that all the talents here (and they are numerous) can do what they want. No?

Might be difficult to manage a single game among many - unless they divided areas like sound, graphics etc.
The main coding would need to be just 1 or 2.

Another idea along the same lines would be to have a pack of mini games.
But, sell them and divide up the loot  =D
Comp:
Speccy-48k, Speccy-128k, Amigas, PCs

In fact, I didn't think of a revolutionary game, but rather a classic game like Shoot 'em up, Platform, Beat' em up, etc ...
I could have started creating a prototype that I would call version 0.1 and whenever someone improves / adds code, graphics or sound, we increase the version by quoting the name of the person.
A bit in this style:

SHMUP
SHMUP_V0_1_0.ZIP  ----> Snoopy    : Prototype
SHMUP_V0_2_0.ZIP  ----> MrPlow    : Code improvement / addition
SHMUP_V0_2_5.ZIP  ----> Snoopy    : Minor graphics improvement / addition (a 0.5 addition = minor improvement or addition)
SHMUP_V0_3_0.ZIP  ----> Someone : Sound improvement / addition
(...)

It's just an example.
In this way the source code can also be used as a tutorial.

:D ... Everything is free of course ;)
As I said, it would not be a revolutionary game, but just a classic that I hope well done and fun.

In short, it's an idea but it's true that it's not easy to put in place :(
