Post by: MrPlow on 2013-Sep-10
Hi Guys,

My 1st Android app for beta testing... not a game ... a chess clock...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/25oa0a8wyxi59d9/glbasic-signed.apk (https://www.dropbox.com/s/25oa0a8wyxi59d9/glbasic-signed.apk)

https://www.dropbox.com/s/bs6yxs3aagqq2bk/knightclock2.008.apk (https://www.dropbox.com/s/bs6yxs3aagqq2bk/knightclock2.008.apk)
(removed bad permissions!!)

Please try it out...It works fine on my Nexus 7 II

Dropbox is so handy for android beta deployment...

Hi Mr. Plow,

I tried on my device.

It does ask permissions for a few stuff, are you really using all that? Might wanna change the manifest me guesses.
The apk shows nicely with its icon, but it won´t install on my phone. After running it, it says "app not installed".

Thanks Erico, I seen the other stuff and removed it from the manifest...no need for it.

I see, but why didn´t it install in the first place?
I´m giving a go on your newer version...

edit: Again, I get a "application not installed" after running it. The manifest seems nice now.
I´m not an android wizard, but I think if you want to have your app going for testings without all the signing stuff, you may want to use the "glbasic-debug.apk" file instead.
That is what I use to test my game on my device.

 :help:
My damn good-fer-nothing Java is saying debug cert is expired...still didnt stop me publishing to Google Play though!!!
:)

Strange...i thought the fully signed and ready-to-go version would install handy for others...?!

Me thinks the signed one is ´protected´ for the play store.
That one I stated isen´t, as I tried it on my brother and father´s phone to beta on it, and it is the one I currently use to check things on my own device.

you cant install both the debug and a signed version on the same device, then you need to uninstall the app first. if cerficate is expirered, there is help here: http://www.glbasic.com/forum/index.php?topic=8023.0
