Title: Procedural music making tool
Post by: erico on 2013-Nov-13
Hello all, here another shot for the procedural music thing.
I love this one, and finally, the midi it exports IS organized enough on a tracker to have great use.

I love the interface too, go play with it NOW:

If you need a non-web tool, never forget Sound Helix, it produces trully great tunes:

Pretty good.

I imported a midi file from the first example song into Fruity Loops. Went as well as that can. Cool.

Really Cool the app!!! When I do music, I do with something similar to garage band but for Windows, or some tracker like in Amiga...

In the page, there is info on how to import the engine inside your code and generate music on the fly, so it is already possible.
Similar to including sfxr in code.

That of course would be too much for me to handle / understand, I will just give a shot creating a few tunes and convert to wav, ogg.
I still have algomusic here to give a re-try too :good: But this really feels very advanced and the examples are awesome.

I used to recommend cgMusic - but unfortunately it requires the MFC 2003 Redist, which can't be officially found

It's true Erico I don't think about this... then if you put something in a txt with Glbasic and calls to the .EXE (JAR) of this app have to works, ins't?¿

Thans MrT, I take a look.

I rebenber Gernnot put another library for audio , this it's in C++ and the good point it's you can modifiy Pitch, reverb and add a lot of FX to wav sounds, but now I'm not sure in wich part of the forum is it...

If you really want to go old-school with procedural music generating, check out CPU Bach (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C.P.U._Bach) for the 3DO ;)
