Akeytsu - Rigging and Animation Utility

Akeytsu

This is a 3D animation and rigging utility. The reason I mention it is, that's its currently half-price (and is available on Steam too) and 1 month trial is available on the website. But mainly, it's so damn good at what it does. Motionbuilder is the best that you can get IMHO(but it's way too expensive!) but this is a very close second. One thing though, it deals with FBXs, so you will need a method for converting them into a usable format for GLB. I've wasted a lot of cash on various animation utilities, it's a breath of fresh air to actually recommend one.

Thanks bigsofty I take a look, I'm using blender now, but depending the price perhaps I buy... Thanks a lot for sharing.

Looks really good!

Rigging is an horror show, stuff gets complex to deal quite fast. :P
I haven´t seen much solution from the industry on this subject except for...

ta taaammmmm ... ta taaaammm...

...Chronosculpt from newtek! (is it possible to talk 3d without erico babling lightwave?)
While it is ground braking for me, like the VPR, newtek tools are expensive, but not as ridiculous as the competition.
Chronosculpt will easy up the monstrous work of rigging but you have to at least create a basic motion first, so it is not a standalone solution.

It is a 2013 tech, here is a demo video:

It shows a lot of what you can do when using simulations but the use it has with rigged animation is just out of this world.
Cheers!

I'm not sure Erico but I think Cronosculpt not have too much repercusion... I try sometime ago, and I don't like nothing... really I don't understand how works.
About the soft put bigsofty I test, in fact runs under Wine (crash when I want export or import some fbx files), and I like a lot very easy to use and very quick to work... and the price is very interesting, 60E for Indie Version , totally aceptable and 19 if you want only learning... I'm not sure if you can export.

Who wants test, you can download a trial serial number... I think is a very powerfull and easy tool for learn to animate characters... more focused in artist than technical knoledges... this said the author of the program.

And sure if continues in Steam, only is wait for Crhistmas or Summer offers, sometimes the prices drop down a lot.

I will give it a try the next time I have to animate something like that. :good:

What is wrong with Blender?
It's not that hard to Rig and use Boneanimation... and you can use inverse kinematics (IK) and it is
4 Free and works perfect.

For 2D animations you can draw Bodyparts and animate it in Inkscape.
I can post a little video of the Ninja i made later, i'm @ work atm.
I <3 DGArray's :D

Blender is fine, actually super versatile, you can even use it to edit movies like premiere. :D
I think the point with blender is that for new people, it is quite complex.

I´d like to see that ninja. :)

HUHU no time for a Video but i can show some pictures...
Inkscape is so cool to do 2D Stuff!

Those are great Schranz0r! I didn´t know one could animate with inkscape.
I used to animate like that with Moho, now called something like anime studio. http://my.smithmicro.com/anime-studio-pro.html
...and prior to that, Fantavision made the day. (or those days...:) )

edit: oh, it is once again called moho...much better then anime studio. ;)

I agree Inkscape is great, it used to be very buggy but it's a lot better nowadays.
Cheers,

Ian.

I will give a try, it has a c++ api too, would it be free to use inside glb maybe?

Schranz0r

Why not, there is also a C# for Unity...
We can create a Wrapper for the Animationfile maybe?!
