Just say to your wife - "It's an investment. With the TP I can create games and apps that will bring in loads of money. More than it cost in actual fact." And keep a straight face too. That usually helps! :P

I've earned about that this year (since March) with mainly Pre stuff, but I do still have continuing sales of B'lox! on iOS too (two or three copies a week, with absolutely no advertising). I really need to do more iOS stuff - port my Pre stuff across and get the free version of B'lox! out there too, to push that.

A Touchstone is a charging block/stand (there are two types - one for Pre/Pixi and one for TouchPad) that allows you to rest your device on top and charge it, without having to plug in a USB lead to the device. The Touchstone is plugged into a wall socket and that's it. No more wires. They are brilliant. I've got two Pre/Pixi touchstones and one for TouchPad. Unfortunately you can't use either Touchstone for charging up the other webOS machines.

My TP is here!

My wife saw it and... I am (still) alive!  :enc: :enc: :enc:

Any hint on the device?

I have heard somewhere that you overclocked it and some other things... is this correct?

I did. Google Preware. Is *really* easy and isn't really rooting or jailbraking. Apparently HP even supplied servers to the Preware programmers for free. I can't remember which OC to use, but I didn't use the one that sounds like a plane. Well I did originally, but it looks like crap booting up and it didn't OC the second core. The one I installed works fine for me upto 1.7Ghz. I didn't try 1.9Ghz as apparently is unstable (on every OC software I think). Great so far.

Also Google Preware tips as there are a few to streamline it. Seems the main one is getting rid of automatic logging which slows it down somewhat (and no need to really use logging for errors these days as HP are doing a runner). Also can turn off the ripple effect on a tap. But obviously the main business is the OC software :) Main program to monitor it and change speeds on the fly is called Govnah I think (Preware) but you need another install from Preware to allow OC properly. If you get stuck I will look to see which one I installed (again, not the one that sounds like a plane that seems to be the most recommended).

Other than that, get a touchstone and look at the Exhibition options. Is very good to automatically slideshow FB albums for example when put on charge (keeps the wife happy).

Random button? What do you mean? You can setup Exhibition to use a specific app (FB for example) but I don't know if you can make it random. Note with FB you can you use it with Exhibition to show latest status updates, but there is a way to get it to show album art.

A random button to show photos in random order, as the help file explain.

Ah. I dunno. I can use FB in Exhibition mode to show selected albums, but I don't know how to set it up to do it randomly.

Pairing a Bluetooth Keyboard ....

Goto BT settings
type add Device
type  Keyboard
Touchpad is showing you the Device Name and ask the Pairing Code
first type "123 and enter" on the TP
after this type "123 and enter" on the Keyboard
now connecting fine ..

works with my Logitech Cordless Media Board pro . :puke:
be shure the keyboard is in pairing mode (shut KB off, press and hold reset,Shut KB on , release reset)
i'll guess its working also with cheaper KB's .

If you have STYLE use the Mac Bluetooth KB   :-*

input ,key() and Keywait runs fine.

keywait will not work with Cursorkeys.

Funny enough I was just about to add keyboard control to my a TP game and I have a Mac BT keyboard (two in fact - large full size and the smaller recent one).
I came. I saw. I played.

Marmor

use the small one ! :-*

i've updated my post above !

Ian Price

Cheers :)

I had planned to use the small one - I bought the large one for my wife (she hates small keyboards, including laptops - she's a director's secretary, so uses a keyboard at work all the time) and she's never used it OR the Mac, so the keyboard is now in another room, gathering dust.
